Stage 20 will be very, very tense. 32 seconds is not hard to make up for someone like Berhane, but Pozzovivo is in splendid form and as said it will certainly make for some great action.
Meanwhile, I'm glad Oliveira could really step up his game and gift Porto with some of the points they have lost because of Reis' injury. 2 consecutive stage wins in 2 different terrains is not something you see every day by a rider like him, and he's as close as ever to a GC top 10 too, that at this point will be hard to obtain but still.
Excellent reporting Tamijo, you're doing a top job.

We're just not going to win a stage, are we?

Well I can't be too unhappy about this couple of stages What a show of strength from Oliveira. Makes me glad to have sent him here instead of Ukraine.
As roturn and other put it, it's not going to replace the ton of points Reis could grant at the end of the race, but this is greatly rewarding to say the least!
Thanks everyone.
Onto the decider, now!

This has been a breath taking stage race as per usual, and it took a flawless Pozzovivo to take the overall win away from Berhane. Congrats maxime!
Good results for Telkom and Aeropostal as well who have different ambitions! Hopefully nothing nasty happens tomorrow
And thanks for the fantastic reports Tamijo, even after this exports-less stage which is a dread scenario for every reporter

Credits go to roturn - fixing that issue very fast.

None of the following is aimed at Tamijo, he did a splendid job.
But I hate this shitrace, break ruling alle stages, and now when we clearly had the best ma in that group, the ai again decide to work against my team.... Know I have been unlucky, but it kinda feels like PCM is taking a piss on me...
At least Ulanowski will have 1 more chance, but he will fail.
Easiest goal missed, nog top 10... Bye promotion In guess.

Crazy stage. Mountains, crashes, rain, mountains, snow, more mountains and the last minute dramatic twist! Classic. Thanks Tamijo for bringing this to us!
Congratulations Miguel and maxime on the stage victory and probable GC triumph. Pozzovivo certainly looks like a deserving winner.
Reis' escapade was an epic attempt in his own right. I'll remember to keep that in mind when renewing his contract.
Looking forward to Cabrera's farewell tomorrow

Glad to see Lowe up there so long, but he lost his good placement in GC so the break was not worth it at all.
Nonetheless a very interresting race with a lot of action, thank you Tamijo! |

This has been a very fun journey, following the teams and riders in such a long tour.
There have been many up’s and down’s, some huge surprises and it has definitely not always been fair, as fjhoekie has pointed out VisitUkraine haven’t had their share of luck and good fortune, shining on other teams, can’t say Juan Van Heerden showed much consistency in this tour either, not to mention how bad things turned out for Rafael Reis, falling out of top 30 from CG 1st clearly based on his crash.
Never the less it has been dramatic and thrilling to follow it as closely as I have done.
This is an overview of the developments during the tour.:

Thanks a lot for the superb reports. Very splendid work and great overview above as well!
A pity for Miguel as Cabrera should have won 3 more stages here, which were taken by the breakaway. But still a yet again impressive race by him. With Rujano still 4th after his crash earlier, this is a great race for them. Just like In-n-Out and Flores, which makes the relegation fight very interesting now. Ranking to come after the next classics. |

And another 'nope'.
Can't blame Nitu or the team for this stage, was a good effort, and looked promising, but ultimately Nitu simply lacks class. Ulanowski again bad, but I know having a teammate up front confuses PCM quite often, so not something I can be mad about either.
Race in general has been enjoyable to read, even though it has been very frustrating. Thanks Tamijo.

Cabrera is a beast, and might have saved Aeropostal here. Roglic with a decent race, it will be interesting to see whether The_Rider will come back or not, and thus whether Roglic might become an FA again to join a homeside team.
Telkom with a good but not perfect race, a shmae cause I'd have loved to see them wrecking here. Anyway, hopefully Aeropostal stays safe, Granjel needs to continue that America party!
Shame for the Ukrainian hype though, and equally for Porto which belong to the WT with that team.

so will take a 5th, 10th, and handful of other minor placings for this race. Hopefully it ends up being worth enough points to save the season. Feel like it was a solid race for us, we didn't really attack as much as I'd like to have seen, but we did well.
Thanks for all the reports to a very long race!

Cannot be unhappy with a victory. Maybe this will propel us out of the relegation zone. But man, berhane really scared me throughout the race.
And fantastic reports Tamijo |

Shame, Cabrera could've taken 3 more stage wins... Oh well.
Very good race for us! Rujano saved a 4th, which could've been 3rd without his fall, and Cabrera with that points jersey! Good bunch of points to save us from relegation. Again. |

It's been a pleasure to read these reports alongside you guys. Epic race as it should always be.
I'd never be fully satisfied with the result after Reis' crash, but with 4 stage wins and a few other triumphant moments.
Congratulations to everyone involved. And most of all a massive thank you, Tamijo for your excellent work with this monumental race!
