Still waiting for confirmation about that DDD rider.
From the look it was clearly Cavendish. So I think he just used JvR`s transponder really. Sprinted like Cav and looked like his face. |

I hope it wasn't Cav because I placed a bet on him and don't want to be that close to winning.

Nice first win for Degenkolb in his new team.
Ian: It was Janse van Rensburg that Dege just edged out!
Thanks, thought he looked too upright but took Twitter's word for it

Apparently indeed JvR sprinting as Cav was a bit further behind on a screen.
So strong sprint there by him and obviously a much tougher finale with this short hill in the last 3km as the first 4 are all better over those hills while Kittel/Cav/Groenewegen all struggled today.
Will be interesting tomorrow, where it should be even more extrem. |

In the end Grivko apparently was disqualified by the race organizer. |

Yeah, either win the race or don't bother finishing

Is there any president of riders being banned for fighting/punching other than being disqualified from the actual race they are in?

The last incident concering punching I remember is Brambilla/Rovny. I don't think either were banned by the UCI, but Brambilla was left out of the WC selection that year by the national coach. Would therefore not expect a ban for Grivko after today, or at least I don't think it would be justifiable if you look at that incident.

precedent, but close enough. But yes, there is a President that would be part of this, the President of the UCI Mr. Cookson

First race live this year!
Hoping for some good action in the finale to upset the sprinters. |
