Thanks guys! Yeh it's not the strongest team yet as we are still missing that stand out stage racer that we have been looking for but we are hoping that we can get some wins this season and comfortably improve on our results last year which really shouldn't be too hard.

So a lot of you may have noticed myself and the team's activity has died a lot recently. Firstly, because I had lost motivation to update anything and whenever I went to I couldn't be bothered. Secondly, I have just swapped over to a MacBook and I'm still working out how to use it and all that but I am here now and I am going to update everyone on the progress of Fox Sports - BikeNZ from the Clasico San Cristobal all the way up to the Giro del Trentino!
ManGame Update January - July
The year was off to a disappointing start at the Clasico San Cristobal with Daspuntsag our best finisher only managing 29th over 4 minutes behind. Next came the Tour Down Under which kicked off well with Daspuntsag getting into the breakaway and managing to grab the KOM jersey for Day 2. Day 2 was quiet for us. Day 3 we saw crowd favourite Delgerbayar get into the break and grab some sprint points and show off the jersey. The final day saw Daspuntsag get into the breakaway and almost riding the perfect race! He sprinted past everyone however there was one man by the name of Barbero who had that little bit extra and managed to pass and take the win by less then a bike length. We will have to wait a bit longer for that first win.
The final race of January was the Great Ocean Road Classic which was one of our goals for the season. The goal was achieve a top 10 in the race and that is exactly what happened! Delgerbayar managed to stay with the front group and was strong enough to stay with the front group of less then 15 riders and sprint to 6th and achieve our first goal of the season!
The beginning of February marked the start of the Benelux Challenge. Stage 1 we had Taylor Gunman, the kiwi, in 7th only 9 seconds behind in the prologue. However, after the prologue we never got another result inside the top 10 so overall a disappointing face for the team. The Geraardsbergen-Bosberg was up next. We had Bayly in the breakaway but once they were caught we had nothing more to be excited about. The Gisborne GP was next and this was our first race in New Zealand for the season. A big disappointment and we wanted to forget that one and move on. The San Marino Hill Classic rounded out February and is another one to forget.
The next race on our calendar was the Tour of Southland. It was our main goal for the season. We wanted to win General Classification here. We didn't achieve that but we achieved great things in our home race. Stage 1 was a 4.7km flat prologue. Rick Flens and Taylor Gunman were both favourites to win as well as UKs Andrew Tennant. Flens was on fire and managed to win by 5 seconds and take out the teams first win in its 2 year existence!
Stage 2 saw Steele Von Hoff sprint well to take 2nd place for the team. Stage 3 was an uphill finish. We don't have the best climbers but Tarik Chaoufi managed to finish with the same time and finish in 8th place. Stage 4 was another flat stage. Von Hoff only managed 5th however we still haven't finished outside of the top 10 in this race so far. Stage 5 was a mountain finish and we had no chance at a high finish. We finished nowhere near the top in this stage. Stage 6 was flat however a breakaway managed to stay away. Von Hoff sprinted to 9th place. Stage 7 was the second TT. However, Gunman and Flens only managed 5th and 6th, respectively. The final stage in Southland was a pan flat stage. We had Nicholas Schultz in the breakaway. The break managed to stay away and Schultz attacked his companions and stayed away! In his first season Schultz has beaten some of the best riders in the CT and taken his first (of many) wins!
Gent Wevelgem was always going to be a hard race and as a team Fox Sports didn't show at all. The Tour of Bulgaria started off with a mountain stage which we were never going to do well in. Stage 2 was a TTT. We managed 11th 1'15 off the pace. Stage 3 was again a mountain stage so nothing much happened with us. Stage 4 was a flat stage. Gunman was a our man in the breakaway which stayed away. The kiwi was the strongest and gets us another win! The final stage was again a mountain stage so nothing happened but we can leave happy with a great win from this race.
Busan GP had a lot of top sprinters and Von Hoff only managed 14th. Barcelona Classic was another race were we didn't do very well. The Windhoek ITT was a great race for us. We didn't get the win but we got 2 riders in the top 5 with Lotto Petrus and Rick Flens coming in 4th and 5th. Tour of Scotland started with a flat stage. Wim De Vocht fought hard and was close to taking the win but ran out of energy close to the finish and wasn't able to keep going. Stage 2 was hilly and we had Kamzong in 10th. By the end of the Tour of Scotland Kamzong finished in 11th overall and just missed out on the youth jersey by 1'14 to Kim Magnussen from the KAYAK-Clas Ohlson team.
Sachsen-Anhalt Classic is a flat cobbled race. We had both De Vocht and Bakari in the front group however they didn't have the speed to get into the top 10. Lincoln GP should have been a race where we did quite well however the guys just didn't have it in them today. Bayly was our best and managed to get 15th. Stage 1 of the Post Denmark Rundt was a good race for us. Von Hoff was able to sprint to 3rd place and is looking good for later in the tour. The hill stage 3 was also a podium finish for us with Gunman getting 3rd and now being 3rd on the GC. The end of the Tour ended with a TT. Flens did very well! Gunman had a bad day but managed to seal 7th on the GC.
Monterrey TTT we finished 8th. Tour de Pologne was a rather boring start for us. Stage 4 is where it really began for us when we had both Von Hoff and Witmitz in the top 10. The final stage of the race Von Hoff was delivered perfectly but just late and finished 2nd just missing out on the win.
The Isle of Man ITT was a disappointment for us. We didn't do very well. The Giro del Trentino was a hard race for us. We don't have the best climbers so we brought a strong sprint team for the one sprint stage in the race. Stage 3 was a race were we controlled the sprint trains at the end as we had the strongest team.
Von Hoff was only just leading around the final corner.
But Von Hoff just couldn't hold on and has to settle for 2nd behind Tomohiro Hayakawa of the team Meiji - JR East.
The rest of the tour were mountains and we didn't do well however we left with a 2nd so we can't complain.
There you have it. That's the recap. Next up we have the USA Pro Cycling Challenge and then the Herald Sun Tour. It is going to be a huge finish to the season!
See you all soon!
P.S. Sorry about the massive post...

Stage Win in the Tour of America!!!
The Tour of America has begun and so far the team has done a lot better then everybody expected! Many top 10 and podium finishes! However, the big highlight was Stage 15. Daspuntsag got himself into another breakaway after already been in the escape the previous few days. He fought long and he fought hard. His biggest competition was Montaguti who was fighting hard but just wasn't strong enough to catch the Mongolian escape artist! Daspuntsag crossed the line in 1st place and got out first win of the Tour of America! A hugely deserving win for the rider! He has had a magnificent season so far!
Meanwhile, the Herald Sun Tour has finished. We got a top 10 in every stage but in the end could only manage to finish 27th on GC with Delgerbayar. Von Hoff was not strong enough to get us a podium in the sprint stages and Petrus unable to finish high enough in the TT to get us a good GC placing. This means we have another failed objective. Hopefully we can continue the form of the Tour of America in our final couple of races in the season.

Tour of America - Breakaway Represent!!!
We have had a far better Tour of America then we though we would have had! Leaving with many top 10s, podiums and even a win! We are also leaving with a lot of TV time as we have had a lot of riders in the daily breakaways almost everyday for the last week. Mainly, Kamzong and Daspuntsag.
It has been great to see the riders attacking consistently! With 3 stages to go we still have 3 more chances to ride a good race!
Maybe even another win is possible!

A few changes to the sponsors for next season. After a way better season this year BikeNZ is happy to continue their sponsorship for at least another season! However, Fox Sports has decided that after two seasons they have decided to stay with the team but drop to a secondary sponsor. Taking Fox Sports place will be Garmin. The team will from now on be called Garmin - BikeNZ Cycling.
All the other sponsors stay the same except for one addition. People For Bikes will be coming on as a secondary sponsor. They were suppose to join last season but after a small hiccup they were unable to. However, this season it will definitely work!
| Main Sponsor: | Garmin | | | Main Sponsor: | BikeNZ | | | Clothing: | Castelli | | | Bike: | Felt | | | Secondary Sponsor: | Golomt Bank | | | Secondary Sponsor: | Island Records | | | Secondary Sponsor: | Fox Sports | | | Secondary Sponsor: | People For Bikes | |

Unlike last season where we didn't have many youth riders, we have a lot more this season. We focused a lot on finding high developing youth riders Like Nicholas Schultz and Narankhuu Baterdene. We also have 2 stagieres with high potential by the names of Aleksa Crncevic and Miles Scotson. We have 3 riders who are developing today and all 3 are a big part of this team's future. Especially as we move into new sponsorship next season!
Timothy Roe
27 Years Old - XP 2016 : Level 4.8 - Potential : 4 - Upgrade : Stage Race
Timothy Roe has spent the past season at Jayco'z cycling team and has developed there enough for his XP to max out. Below are his previous stats and new stats.
| Season | FL | MO | HI | TT | STA | RES | REC | COB | SP | ACC | FI | DH | PRL | | 2016 | 66 | 73 | 72 | 73 | 70 | 68 | 70 | 57 | 62 | 74 | 70 | 62 | 73 | | 2017 | 66 | 75 | 73 | 75 | 71 | 69 | 72 | 57 | 62 | 74 | 70 | 62 | 75 |
"I am a stage racer, I have always been better against the clock and going up that climb and a lot of stage racing is about mentality and being able to ride individually. That's what I am good at and I will continue to be good at!" Timothy Roe, 2016
Nicholas Schultz
22 Years Old - XP 2016 : Level 1 - Potential : 6 - Upgrade : Stage Race
Nicholas Schultz is our most exciting signing of the season. He may be young but he will develop into one of the top climbers in the ManGame I believe. Schultz is only in his first season but he has already won a race way back in the Tour of Southland where he outsmarted the rest of the riders. Let's have a look at the stats of Schultz.
| Season | FL | MO | HI | TT | STA | RES | REC | COB | SP | ACC | FI | DH | PRL | | 2016 | 67 | 67 | 68 | 62 | 70 | 75 | 67 | 53 | 58 | 65 | 62 | 62 | 62 | | 2017 | 67 | 69 | 69 | 63 | 71 | 76 | 69 | 53 | 58 | 65 | 62 | 62 | 63 |
"I'm very happy I get the opportunity to ride with a team like Fox Sports. They may not be a top team by any means but they have a way of supporting their riders like no one else. It is a pleasure to race here and I can't wait to continue racing with them." Nicholas Schultz, 2016
Narankhuu Baterdene
21 Years Old - XP 2016 : Level 1 - Potential : 4 - Upgrade : Sprinter
Another new signing from the start of the season. This young Mongolian has great potential as a sprinter and could soon find himself at the top of the CT and maybe even the PCT. The future of Mongolia is in great hands with Baterdene! His stats are shown below.
| Season | FL | MO | HI | TT | STA | RES | REC | COB | SP | ACC | FI | DH | PRL | | 2016 | 67 | 58 | 60 | 59 | 67 | 69 | 71 | 62 | 69 | 70 | 59 | 65 | 64 | | 2017 | 68 | 58 | 60 | 59 | 68 | 69 | 72 | 63 | 70 | 71 | 59 | 65 | 64 |
"Being a Mongolian I look up to riders like Altanzul and Delgerbayar. Now that I have the opportunity to race with them is just unreal! I have been told that if I keep developing I can be a top sprinter and that is my plan, but I will never forget where I came from." Narankhuu Baterdene, 2016
So a lot of potential among the future of the team! We can't wait to show our new sponsors in the new year what we are made of and hopefully we can have a good transfer window and get that top stage racer we have been looking for. With Roe developed we might be able to get some better results from him however we can't rely on only him and another stage racer will be our main and only goal in the next transfer window. I believe with a top stage race we can make it into the PCT after next season.

Ruta America del Sur - Great Start!
This is our final race of the season and a big result is exactly what we need! A prologue was the perfect opportunity for a good start. We sent Gunman and Flens to this race in hopes for a win however we had to settle for 2nd with Gunman finishing only 2 seconds behind the winner.
Stage 2 was a sprint stage and with Von Hoff there we were hoping for a top 3 at least. However, both Von Hoff and Giacoppo got boxed in and were too tired to do anything. Thankfully Australian sprinter Sam Witmitz was able to get a good sprint in and take 5th place!
Stage 3 was the first hilly stage and with Gunman still up there on the GC we were hoping to keep him in the top 3 of GC. He did just that coming in 9th, 20 seconds behind Teirnan Locke who won the stage and took the GC by 5 seconds off Gunman.
Halfway through the stage and it is looking goor for us. We just need to stay strong!

The Final Continental Rankings are out and we are near the bottom as we suspected. We have had a tough season. Even though we have had a lot of good races and top 10s there were not enough GC top 10s to get us close to the top. We lack a strong GC rider and that is who we will be looking for this off season. A strong GC rider is our one and only goal. Any other strong riders we can pick up is a plus.

With the season now come to a close it is time to look back on what was our most successful season to date, even if it was still an epic fail. We had 4 wins from Rick Flens, Nicholas Shultz, Taylor Gunman and Erdenebayar Daspuntsag. Other than this we did not win any GC rankings and only came in the top 10 twice. We only achieved 1/5 goals when we came in the top 10 of the Great Ocean Road Classic with Sonometseren Delgerbayar.
| Goal | Country | Race | Achieved | Results | | Win | | Tour of Southland | | Clovis Kamzong - 39th + 9'32 | | Top 5 | | Herald Sun Tour | | Sonomtseren Delgerbayar - 27th + 1'18 | | Top 5 | | Lincoln GP | | Cameron Bayly - 15th + 4'01 | | | Top 10 | | Great Ocean Road Classic | | Sonomtseren Delgerbayar - 6th s.t. | | Top 10 | | Continental Standings | | Fox Sports - BikeNZ - 21st + 536pts |
The Tour of Southland was our home race and probably our best of the season. We won 2 stages in Stage 1 and 8 which gave us our first win in the team's existence.
Rick Flens riding to glory in the Tour of Southland Stage 1
That first win sort of gave the boys a kick start because for the rest of the Tour we did not leave the top 10 except for stage 5 because we are missing that stand out stage racer. However, with the great consistency we did not get another stage win until first year rider, Nicholas Schultz, got himself into the breakaway of stage 8 and showed that he was a rider of the future. He outsmarted the breakaway and the entire peloton and took home his first win of many!
Schultz attacking in Stage 8 of the Tour of Southland. He went on to take home the win!
Our next big highlight of the season came in the Tour of Bulgaria. Kiwi Taylor Gunman got himself into the breakaway of Stage 4 and managed to outsmart and out sprint his fellow breakaway companions and take the teams 3rd win!
Taylor Gunman celebrating the win in Stage 4 of the Tour of Bulgaria!
The rest of the season just kind of kept happening. As we failed more goals we also struggled to get another win in races we should have done well in like the Lincoln GP and flat races with Steele Von Hoff like Stage 3 in the Giro del Trentino when he just could not convert the teams work into a stage win.
This happened all season until the Tour of America came along. Anthony Giacoppo surprised everyone by taking some great results in the sprint stages there coming in the top 10 on a number of occasions. However, the big result came from a breakaway in stage 15. Mongolian breakaway artist, Erdenebayar Daspuntsag got into a large breakaway. He attacked away from his companions and had to time trial home. He managed to hold of a late fight from Montaguti and take the teams 4th and final win of the season!
Daspuntsag taking our biggest win of the season!
After this race we got a couple more podium places with Witmitz and Von Hoff in the Ruta America del Sur but then the season ended and we ended with a better season then our first but still a terrible season overall!
With this we lost our main sponsor for the season (They are staying with the team however) which was a huge setback! This actually didn't face us too much as we soon had an expression of interest only weeks after. The American company, Garmin, told us they would like to sponsor us and we signed them within a week. With that it means our team HQ had to shift over to the USA however, we still have our presence known in New Zealand with BikeNZ still being a major sponsor. The team is now known as Garmin - BikeNZ Cycling.
With a new jersey in development we are hoping that next season will be our best and that we can hold on tightly to our sponsors and maybe keep them for more then 1 season!
The jersey should be revealed over the next months as we get ready for our 3rd season in the CT division and hopefully our last! We will be looking mainly for a big stage racer to help our team get the big points for winning the GC in some races. We will also be looking for another sprinter to help Von Hoff in the sprints as well as a cobbler to team up with De Vocht or maybe replace...
Anyway we will see you all next season!!

Interesting decision to go US-NZ - guess this will be good for both of us! Roe will be a very useful rider to have back next year. Certainly an... interesting way to take Schultz - not how I would have taken him but he'll be very handy regardless - that res is just amazing to have at just level 2 in CT. A better season for you, a good amount of wins and I'm sure next year you'll be even better - looking forward to transfers again!

Thanks mate! Yeh I thought it was time to move away from Australia and try something different.
Maybe we can find a few American riders that can help get us into the PCT next season!!! I am looking forward to our kiwi rivalry this season though!!!

Okay. I will take care of Schultz and Roe in the meantime
Just kidding. Actually a bit sad to see an Aussie team moving to US. Probably won't have a big impact on our relationship, but still. Anyway, will keep following your way with interest.

With our new sponsors revealed almost a month ago, it was only a matter of time until a jersey was made and finalised for the world to see! This season we have decided that top designer, the_hoyle, was the right choice to create our jersey this season.
Garmin wanted to see the old argyle back on the jersey and that is exactly what was delivered. The designer was able to make it look fantastic in our colours of black and blue. So without further ado...here is the jersey we will be using for the upcoming season.
We are super happy with this jersey and can't thank the_hoyle enough!!! We cannot wait to use this jersey and hopefully promote in this shirt as well!!
See you all shortly
