Hurray...

Goodbye stagewin, goodbye GC podium, goodbye Team GC, goodbye 2nd U25 competition, goodbye top 10 U25 competition. As the race goes by we lose everything. 2000 points? Fuck that. We should be lucky getting 1500 at this point.

Too bad really that we weren't awarded with the gap that was clearly there, which could have made the podium possible. We can't gain that much time on Dombrowski on the mountains, so we needed to close the gap to him before the TT. Taaramae needs a very bad day tomorrow otherwise we are not getting a podium. Phinney performs so well that we probably need to gap him aswell as he could likely win the TT by a lot.

Atleast a stagewin and a good team performance. Another one like that and we have a shot at the team GC and to have Vasyliv in the top 10 of the U25.

One bad day (again) will see us throw all goals though.

Amazing stage.

Even inspired Anacona to try some attacking putting him inside top 25. Wonderful!

And suddenly Spilak is a favourite for the podium, SotD. Congratulations! Don't get all the talk about him not getting there. Suspect all he needs is to follow Dombrowski on the next stage, as he should be superior in the TT. Speaking of which, when are we going to talk about Taaramäe as a serious challenger to Schleck? Pfft Two minutes might be enough as the TT is on the 20th stage, but had it been early in the race, I'm sure Taaramäe would fancy his chances. Guess this could come down to a Tour being won on bonifications, seeing how many of them Schleck has claimed.

And what a thrilling stage that was for a long time, thank you for the great report, roturn! And also congratulations on Keizer's perfomance. He could be the "lucky" bloomer in the third week here, if he attacks again for the mountains jersey.

Brave stuff from Nesset going with some of the attacks, as many of the attackers should be a lot stronger than him in the mountains. Encouraging to see him try, though, can't ask for more.

I really don't see how Spilak is to catch 2'30" on Dombrowski. 2 minutes is possible if Spilak puts up a great performance, which he usually don't on timetrials. Taaramäe is definately a contender, atleast for 2nd (again), but taking 2 minutes on Andy Schleck on a final TT with him in yellow is definately not going to be easy, that's for sure. 74TT, 82RES and 82REC is not THAT much worse than 81TT, 80RES and 79REC. I think it's likely that he will end up taking anywhere from 40 seconds to 1'45", but not more. Phinney can take 3 minutes or so I think, but it is going to be interesting to see how much these backup stats have to say. Coppel is decent having 78RES and 74REC, but can he compete this late? Phinney is 74RES and 76REC.

One thing is for sure. Spilak is not a favorite for the podium despite his win today. He needs to gap the others.

I first didn`t plan to mention Koch.

Then remembered your post recently to not have a Evonik mention on the other stage. Pfft

Exciting Tour, all of the podium is still up for grabs with two decisive stages remaining. Love the reports.

I see that I should complain more about my team not doing anything Pfft

Tbh, it's a waste to mention one of my riders when you could mention someone who actually participates in the race instead. It's just depressing that Koch, Vosekalns and Poljanski don't join the breaks. When SotD complains that his riders don't join many breaks the AI may have a reason to not go there due to protecting a leader and stuff. But Evonik has no sprinter, no climber and can only hope for tv time or breaks and yet, none of my riders tried to join breaks. Not on stages where the break might stand a chance (like stage 16) and not on stages where the break is rather uncontested.

Hoping for a big stage tomorrow to get 2nd overall Wink

Pretty epic, wish that happened IRL...

Quite a stage that was. Can't say Abal won't leave the Tour without trying.

Also, sidenote, how a certain Russian Rocket is still in the peloton after a stage like that is beyond me.

Fascinating report to read, big thanks for that roturn!

What a bad decision to bring here König. What a waste of race days. And my sprint team is gone. Bewley is alone. Hopefully no Becherovka sprint train then. Only 3 helpers left, König included. The other two are a pure climber Sakalou and a time trialist Danacik. This may be fun if AI decides to create a truly bad Becherovka sprint train for Bewley. Not for me though. Grin

Just catching up. Have been super busy during the holidays with different things, but seems like me team have been just as absent in the race Pfft Wasn't expecting much with that line up, but no top 10s and only a day in the KoM-jersey was below my hopes Smile Would have loved to see us in some more breakaways. Christensen came close on the 14th stage, so hope we can have one more shot at a stage victory.

It has been a thrilling race so far, and with a few surprises as well. Great to see Dombrowski doing so good, and the same with Taaramae, a rider I really admire. Given his TT ability, I guess Schleck shouldn't feel safe just yet.

Thanks for all your reports, roturn. Have been some great reads.

Whatever I said in other races. Keizer you beauty. Cool

Nice win for Andyyy but Spilak with another missed chance. Almost impossible to get Dombo or Taaremee off of it now. Gratz to Keizer.

Bit disappointing not to get a stage win or a time gap but I'm glad Dombrowski has been riding so well and so aggressively, and is still in the hunt for the podium. Fingers crossed for the TT.

Despite Lecuisinier and Novak doing a great job, I can't help but being unsatisfied with this. Spilak is clearly not strong enough to gap any of the 3 infront of him, and to gain THAT much on Dombrowski is not possible. Before the season I said I wanted to win the Tour, and I gambled A LOT of quality racedays that would have been spent better elseway on it, but I did play it safe in the goals, only asking Spilak for a top 3. And he couldn't even do that. That is seriously a crap performance. Lecuisinier managed a 4th in the Vuelta and is looking set for 8th (atleast). 7th or 6th if Spilak wouldn't have been here. So it is utter crap to be honest.

On to the positive side, Lecuisinier did great and the goal of him ending between 8-12th should be secured now unless he fails big time. Vasyliv and Novak both inside the top 30, which was the goal, and Novak maybe even in contention to catch Grmay in the TT if all goes well, but even if he doesn't he managed to climb very well in the 3rd week after a dreadful first 10 days. Also the Team GC seems secured, as we shouldn't be worse in the TT than neither Vesuvio nor Bouygues. But I would have taken a better Spilak performance than all of this easily...

Congrats to Roturn for a great race. Swift with stagewins and in play for the points jersey, Keizer winning the KOM, and 11th in the GC, while also Bennet in 22nd. Must be better than expected, surely.

Bad luck for Orange, as they seem to be hit by the Sicard-curse also. Relegation seems unavoidable at this point, as I suspect they will be 3rd from the bottom after this race where both Sicard and Quintana performed sub-par, almost scoring them no points at all besides GC points.

Henao climbed well in the third week to make it a pretty decent race for ember in the end. eBuddy are likely to get 2nd in the PT after this race, taking down Aker and Evonik. It will be very interesting to see if Vesuvio will jump all the way to 3rd after this race. Puma might be in contention also after having had a much better GC campaign than what could have been predicted. Arndt might get a top 10 despite being a very crappy TTer. He have more than 4 minutes on Keizer. Nerz in 16th is definately good aswell.

And once more it is proven that picking top puncheurs with a decent MO stat for Grand Tours isn't necessarily a bad thing. Two stagewins for Bakelants and 18th in the GC (Atleast for now) and one for Ponzi with 17th in the GC.

It is going to be very interesting in the battle for relegation and the top 5 spots after this race as several teams are close.

Except your name is De Bie crashing in first days of Giro being injured all race. Wink

KoM is Bonus points here. Rest I was hoping actually. So more than okay TdF for me and with Olivier in Top10 In other GT I had a nice GT season.
