Nothing happening for our team at all so far - that is actually quite decent start to this Vuelta for us with no sprinters in our team. Now things will get more interesting.
Oh and congrats Smowz, Cav is beasting so far!

Good overall performance. Durbridge was never going to win, so 2nd plus Ford and Haig is fine. Morton with a solid result, I guess.

Great pace on the reports, thank you, roturn!
And what a massive win by Gesink, and some serious time gaps
Hurts to see Guldhammer loose almost five minutes, but on the other hand it's good that such a TT gives huge gaps, coming early in the race. It also sets the race up nicely before the more difficult stages. |

Nice +5 day for Gesink, this game is funny. At least we will have an interesting battle going on, congrats Alex. Gesink will be slaughtered in mountains though...

Massive win for Gesink here, now if he could only use the hills to his advantage, he could actaully take it all the way!

Amazing TT by Gesink, interesting that pluchkin was that slow, surely expected to make top 10 at least! A few decent sprints so far, looking forward to seeing how the GC shapes up!

Wow, Kudus 5 minutes down already. Not a nice deficit at this stage. |

Wow Gesink already got 2 minutes on Pluchkin. This could actually be such an fantastic race if done right by the AI. Pluchkin really needs to excel in the Mountains and hope the hills can keep him near Gesink at all times. In the Giro he was given a strong and perhaps a little unfair advantage, but now we really need to see him perform!
Though I can only feel sorry for Avin having Pluchkin underperform so badly on this TT

That's what you deserve for not recognizing Bobby as the biggest threat for your boy

Groenewegen already reached all I could have had expected with that 2nd in the opener!
This is my best ever sprint result in a GT I think.
Olivier with his TT weakness about 6min down is not ideal obviously. Will be difficult to repeat his Giro performance obviously.
Next stage most likely later today as I have a match myself. Alternatively in ~30min seeing the bet stops then. |

A result with a bit of mixed feelings. Having a top 10 favorite for the stage, 12th feels a bit meh, as it gives no points - And I desperately need those.
Getting ahead of riders such as Pluchkin and Nibali is obviously good, aswell as putting "significant" time on the likes of Morton, Machado, van den Broeck, Guldhammer and Alarcon.
Ending up behind the likes of Meier and especially Campenaerts, Haig and Verona is crap though as that means Lecuisinier is only 5th in the U25 competition = No points - Again.
So overall a bit worse than anticipated and hoped for, and in combination with Coquard sprinting well below his weight so far the start have been very poor. In terms of points, almost as poor as the Giro, which is definately not good, if I'm to compete for a PT top 5 (Or top 10!).

I really doubt that he had a +5 day. More like a +1/2 day and Pluchkin a -2/3 or so day.

Daily form absurdity is same RNG unfair advantage as crashes, i dont see any difference. This is even a minute more than advantage we have gained on Madrazo at Giro...

They have ONE point difference in TT, this had to be like +4/5 on one side and -2/-3 on the other...
