I didn't want him to retire in the first place but after all that this hurts my opinion of him quite a bit.
RIP Exxon Duke, David Veilleux, Double Feature, and Monster Energy

well I can understand him...Katusha forced him to retire in a way that was different to his ideas, maybe Bahrain can offer him a retirement he likes...
and if he earns good money there then why not? he'll surely be the classics leader and could aim for a GT (and share 1-week races with Nibali/Izagirre)

Great news that Purito is going for one more year. I really miss him when he is not there on that steep gradients 15%+...
Dont forget that he was second in la Vuelta in 2015 and again he lost because of TT. Why has he never tried to focus only on vuelta? He might have had one GT victory. |

Well after riding for Katusha I guess it's not that much of a step down to go completely morally bankrupt and ride for that big final paycheck with a team that just goes to show that if you can stump up the $$$ then nobody will really care if it's run by a torturous tyrant and human rights abuser....
Well played Purito you sad old man

Typical Purito leaving his decisions until Flamme Rouge. |

Sure ride on for one more year but Bahrain? No justification for riding with this set up

Sad state of affairs; Nibbles and Purito were my favourite individual riders without a doubt, but signing for Prince Torture.... |

Good to see Purito for one more year, he is one of the more exciting riders to watch in the flamme rouge. He could have choosen another setup though...but i guess the chance to be in staff for next years is what helped his decision (and money ofc).

If I would earn what they earn, I would also ride for Bahrain.

He has been posting for a while tho, but not much.
Why did he 'leave' tho? I remember some drama during the Tour where a bunch of guy disagreed with him, thats all. |

I would not rather get back to that.

I didnt want to respond since this is offtopic but as it might seem that Im back I wont be posting nearly aa much as I used to do or make race threads. I still hope to be around for the big races as long as the forum isn't as toxic as it was during the Tour. |

Talented czech cyclist Michal Schlegel (8th in Avenir GC this year, white jersey at Czech Cyling Tour) signs with CCC Sprandi Polkowice for 2 years, coming from great academy of Klein Constantia.

Rumours that fear me containing the future of David Per: according to the team site he is most likely joining Bahrain-Merida and not LottoNL-Jumbo (what was expected a couple of months ago)
I'd really prefer to see the U23 RVV winner elsewhere, though he might get sime chances to ride for his own success at Bahrain.

It pains me more that Domen Novak is also joining Bahrain. I've been following him for a while. He's had a great development with Adria Mobil, and I'm not sure the mercenary team is the best place for him to continue that.
