Kristoff really furious on Boasson Hagen cause he worked against him in his eyes...should've lead out from 400 to go according to Kristoff (in terms of tactical plan) - and afterwards Boasson Hagen even crossed Kristoffs sprinting line

maybe doing a job for Cav there or just egoistic?

Bronze for Tommeke

LoL what's your problem? Have respect. Viviani is DESERVEDLY Olympic Track Champion.

Though Nizzolo was the leader for us, not Viviani.

*cough* Ulissi *cough*

Ehm, what?
I can't see what does Ulissi has to do with this argument?

while viviani is a bit of a dick its not fair to criticize him just because hes not a superstar who wins everything

not every italian rider can be giuseppe saronni
hes an olympic champion and thats more than most riders will ever achieve

Sagan now at 3307 CQ points for the season. New record.

I don't understand why you all are hating him that much.
I hope that's not because he outclassed a world-class pistard like Cavendish in Olympics.

of course not. its because hes a dick

it has nothing to do with how he rides or the results he has. ruben lobato was a dick too and never outclassed anyone

for kicks i tried to add up the cqranking points sean kelly would have for 1986

i gave up before adding leaders jerseys and points classifications. theres a few thousands points in them but it would take time to research and it was past 4200 points already

Could be that I rumbled, because I rumbled at someone, who said, that he's totally objective towards italian riders, especially Ulissi, But I could be wrong as well. *cough* Maybe it's just my last day on earth *cough*

Lol Martin's fanboy detected.
The fact that i give opinions just about italian riders is because i mostly follow them during entire season, that doesn't mean that i want just them to be upgraded. And Ulissi is not my favourite rider.

I have only seen him being a dick once - in San Luis when he lost to his team mate Mareczko and didn't come on the podium as he was "out of control" as he said.

So, finaly found the time for a full writeup. Fantastic race start by the Belgians, blowing the race to bits. I think 6 guys was the right number, if you bring 7-9 no one else is going to help you. I would've prefered Debusschere instead of Keukeleire there, but that's just a minor detail. Great action in the desert, eliminating Gaviria, Ewan, Demare, Bouhanni and Germany. Germany with some dick moves during the race, but only have themselves to blame for that with their poor team selection. Anyway, if you make the race 200KM in the desert and then have a few local laps, it would actually be a very nice race from start to finish.

But now the local laps destroyed the excitement, Belgium was forced to carry the race with 6 riders. Italy was a bit too passive there, because they needed to drop the top sprinters as well. Doing nothing for most of the time and then only Bennati wasn't good enough. I was very impressed by Korsaeth though. I did miss Holland as well, only Terpstra and Leezer survived, they can do better than that.

Fastforward to the last lap than, until then Belgium had ridden the perfect race, but then they made mistakes. Waiting for a sprint with Sagan and Cavendish is just foolish, we should have attacked. Too much confidence in Boonen maybe, but GVA and Roelandts should've tried something. Even Boonen could've attacked, who would've chased him?

So well, a sprint. Really nice try by Leezer, what a surprise that would've been. But I'm blaming GVA here, if he didn't attack (aside from following Terpstra once), he should have been the one to close the gap with Leezer so Roelandts could wait a bit longer to launch Boonen. I really like Greg, but he of all people should know when he has to play for the team.

Meaning not the ideal leadout for Boonen and in pure speed he's no match for Sagan and Cavendish. Sagan obviously a deserved champion, what a great season he had. Good support from Kolar as well. Not sure if Cav could've beaten him if he wasn't boxed in so much, but I prefer Sagan over Cav, if it wasn't meant to be for Boonen. Guess he'll have to win his 5th Roubaix next year to finish in style.

Maybe the biggest issue I have is that De Weert is head coach at age 34. He rode together with Tom Boonen for like 10 years as a domestique. He's in no position to make a fair judgement to the national team if he's that close to a rider. The plan was always Boonen and that was a wrong call. There was no plan B or plan C for him, and that may have cost us the title. As others have said, if you have 6 good riders in a group of 30 max, you can't be happy with anything but the title.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.
