Vuelta á Espana 2016
Riis123
There is some truth to that statement tho, Shonak; there is a reason La Vuelta has gone murito-insane in those years Rodriguez and Valverde were in their prime and contested the race every year (2012-2015).

That is not a possibility, that is 100% obvious thing, that Vuelta parcours in recent years are structured to suit the strenght of spanish riders. Grin

Hence the lack of proper sprint stages Smile

But then again if that was completely true the Vuelta would simply be the Fleche Wallone route for 21 days Smile

Actually how cool an idea is that?
Except not with Fleche Wallone, but P-R or RvV or Lombardia or something;
Just 21 days of the same profile. Wonder what that'd give.

But the topic has been sprint stages, not Muritos which rather replace the classic transition and breakaway stages than pure sprint ones imo, which are replaced by hilly sprints, perfect for bouhanni and meersman

I also have some more to add but I am on phone in university so later maybe.

Froome would have preferred to follow the rules and execute the OOT limit.

Even though I love Froomey lad, it really doesn't matter what he says after the event. He's going say what fans would like to hear.

Easy to say after the decision has been made..
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

He says that now but I doubt if it had gone the other way he wouldn't have been complaining.

Yeah exactly, but lets give him the benefit of the doubt. I like that statement from Froomey, Contador was very adamant about it as well. Its good to hear the big stars speak out.

I agree, though we all know that it doesn't really matter what he says. Froome also wins no matter what.

21 straight days of P-R or RVV would see alot of broken wheels, bikes and bones Wink
I'd happily see 21 straight days of Tro-Bro Léon profiles, now that would be fun! Smile

He most likely is telling the truth but it's easy to take that position after the fact, I bet he wouldn't of taken the hard line view had 8 of his teammate been eliminated

You got it this time 100%. For some reason Froome is unpopular rider (specially in france)..I really don't know why? Here it is simple..few fanboys with lower then 15 iq made it impossible to even like a little.
About Froome statement after Valverde ..let's ban power meters. he was fast to replay ..that he actually used instinct today...nooot!
About time limit thing..same thing. He is doing anything to be more likeable person for fans.

Same time we all did see how fast he and Brailsford was running around and open the correct doors after Tour running incident...to make sure decision will be what they wanted (he would have won that tour easy even decision had been different).

Edit:
They never liked each other. Wiggins mocking Froome..

Obviously Froome has said what he said once the decision to allow riders to stay had been made, which made it much easier to say. I agree he probably would have had something different to say if the opposite decision had been made, but so would everyone else.
Several other riders have also said it but only Froome/Sky are being called liars and cheats. This is what annoys me about this site.

Can you direct me to the other posts here in the thread when other riders say something like Froome day AFTER the incident? Smile

Maybe i have skipped some, because i would call pathetic liar every other leader who would lost majority of domestiques by that, what he call for...

It's been pointed out Contador has said the same thing.

Shonak
You do understand that for Contador and Froome these are entirely different circumstances, right?
