As we have explained, riders like sprinters that have high acceleration and higher backups than the rest will feel a lot higher stats in game, especially in mountain. If we give Felline 71-72 that is going to make him good enough in game, 74 will make him feel 75 or 76

Do you compare cyclist stats and "game realism" with Simulate or you play the races? If you compare cyclists based on 3D Performances, in which Difficulty you do? Normal, Hard or Extreme?
I think 71 or 72 is really minimum...isn't he better than EBH and Sagan in climbing? |

I think generally there is a bad tendency with much unnecessary whining. We can see you are overthrown, and we can see you've beaten you. But in general I am tired of hearing it that 'I completely finished' mentality.
We all have tried smoking down, and half the time they beat themselves not very much. It burns a little, and it is tiresome to get a bruise.
But I have never ever seen Contador be out and say, 'That's fine, nothing happened'. Never. There is always something wrong.

i was going to agree with you for once until i saw the word vandborg
its true that no one ever admits theyre old or not good enough anymore
but brian vandborg is the king of excuses
no one has ever whined more and made more excuses than vandborg |

Of course we base that on 3D racing, playing on hard - not that it makes a difference AI wise whether you play extreme or easy unless you are controlling a team.

Uhm i have seen that Hard and Extreme increases AI stats...like a 75 rider act like a 78 in Extreme |

Isn't Zakarin a bit overrated? With the stats he has right now, he'd probably be up there in every GT. But does he really deserve a 80 MT/73 REC without ever having finished a GT inside the Top20? (yes some but luck in it as well, but still)
And compared to that, Mollema has only 79 MT and then same stats 73 REC, 72 RES, 73 STA and 78 HILL.
I mean, in comparison Mollema finished 6th, 10th, 7th and 11th in his last four TDFs, was regularly up in Ardennes classics in the last years. and Top10 in the last 5 San Sebastian editions. Zakarin only finished one WT hilly race inside the Top10 in his entire career.
I'd suggest Mollema 80 MT and/or maybe 74 REC and 79 HILL. Zakarin rather 78/79 MO and lesser HILL/REC stat. |

Marco: Well after today we're going with Felline at 74 mtn
Leonoel: Personally I think Zakarin is even better than he is and nearer 81 but safer at 80 for now, whereas Mollema is a solid 79 but no better than this. Zakarin has burst onto the scene as a potential GT podium man but because of his terrible descending ability like at the Giro his season has been ruined in that respect. I expect in the near future that he will either be a genuine GT contender or a Majka type of rider just going for big mtn stages at GT's and only time will tell with this. Mollema is your standard 78/79 mtn rider and when in form could chase a 4th or 5th spot in a GT but usually finishes lower than this and with the stats he has can still challenge in the hilly classics as well.
The thing is Mollema has been around for quite some time now and it's doubtful that he will improve anymore whereas Zakarin could still be capable of anything.

Mollema 78-79
Zakarin 80-81
really? we are rating right now or in the future ....right now (this season ) Mollema is better that Zakarin for sure
Zakarin best result :
2015: won the tour de romandie;4 in tour de pologne and 3rd in artic race of norway
2016: 4 tour de romandie; 4 paris-nice
No big GT results ..... and if you think giro is enough where are some decent climbers but only first 5 places(are GT star) from 5-15 there are only decent climbers no big names (last year Hesjedal for example was 5 .. right now even top 10 places are hard for him..and others like siutsou, atapuma, dupont and visconti are in top 15 )
So giro with a DNF is not enough to make him 80-81 maybe next year with a top 10 in a GT
Is good but not better than bauke or even others 78-79 |

Did you guys watched Zakarin this year? Madone d'Utelle, Morgins, Andalo were very strong performances by him and he was also having pretty good performances the other days. He totally deserves 80. |

Isn't Esteban Chaves a bit underrated for what he did in this year Giro and what he is doing in the Vuelta?
I think he deserves 80 moutains.
Also could you clear out this doubt-How much impact has recovery on daily form, freshness and rythm?

When it comes to giving out high 70's and 80's stats they're not actually given out lightly, so for example when we proposed 80 for Zakarin it was agreed instantly by everybody on the stats team and I even remember one of the team actually suggesting 81 for him which then we thought was too high and that was quite a few months ago now. Zakarin this season has shown that he's one of the most explosive climbers in the peloton and well worth 80 mtn and he's sustained this level throughout the season when he hasn't crashed.
Riders at this level are never rated for the future and the 81 that you're mentioning is just what I feel he's capable of achieving in the near future BUT until he ever performs at that level he'll never be an 81 and only 2017 now will reveal where he will go with his stats.
JPQM97: Chaves makes a good 79 mtn rider as he still lacks what's needed to actually win a GT BUT he has one advantage over a lot of other mtn climbers and that is his huge acc stat which will enable him to build leads on climbs and in many ways will probably perform like an 80 anyway.
Also as has been mentioned many times by us, riders are usually not drastically increased or decreased because they've had a great or poor race, but we always try to build/change a rider over a period of time, so in the case of Chaves starting with Vuelta 2015 he's gradually been increased to 77 then 78 and most recently to 79 and if we feel at the end of this year's Vuelta he's worth 80 we'll give him 80.
Likewise given the collapse of TVG a rider who not so long ago was justifying his increase to 80 looks like getting decreases but these decreases will be gradual and not drastic, unless of course he comes back guns blazing in 2017.

The riders are not assessed equal.
CrueTrue made good DB and stats, miss his good work. |

If you don't like our DB you don't have to play with it or modify it as you like instead of trolling around here.
