Without Contador Quintana would have never done this.Actually he just followed Contador.Like Schleck did at Telegraphe in TDF 2011 Stage 19.Contador is the man of the day and he once again showed what a champion he is.Quintana was just smart enough to follow Contador.Lets not overreact about Quintana.Today doesn't show whether Quintana is a champion or not. |

When you look at the spring campaign, you know how strong he still is, and today showed that nobody understands GT racing like he does, nobody! It's actually funny to read such a thing after such a stage where he did great all day long and which is still a great day in his illustrous career. I can understand it when you say such a funeral note when he did nothing and got trashed, but today?? He orchestraded the moves and the BOTD, and just missed the power in the last two kilometers.
I know about the crashes but I just think he is done as a GT winner and especially if he does target the Tour next season. He's older now and his confidence has taken a beating this season all while younger GC riders are coming through. It's not at all strange to think his time has passed, it's happened to all the great GT riders

How come? Just because he got beaten today by someone who didnt work one single bit earlier on the stage doesnt make him a worse rider than them.
Dont really see the logic here really.
To be fair, Felline pulled some but Contador worked really a lot today and to compare his efforts to anybody else's bar Castroviejo and Tinkoff riders is weird. The anti-contador agenda is just sad trolling by Riis to further push Valverde's spanish legacy. But yes, in Fuente De days he would have still won the stage, right now that's not happening. He will come back stronger in 2017 I'm sure.

Somewhat agree, Quintana had deserved to win this stage, just as Contador did in Fuente Dé. Always more satisfying. |

He's certainly not a champion yet but you still need to be smart enough to spot the opportunities when they come and also to take advantage of them which is what he did. Contador might have triggered it but Quintana did everything right today

Etixx also was very attentive today, Brambilla won the stage while de la Cruz should be back in the Top 10 of the GC

Froome was nodding in the last 3 kilometers. It shows how much of psychology is involved in this sport. He knew the race was over for him, practically gave up.
Biggest plot twist of the year? |

It was a pathetic sight to see Contador getting dropped like that. You can tell he is miles from being his best - its sad he couldn't win the stage. It has nothing to do with Valverde's legacy or whatever you are on about, just the fact that Contador isn't at his best and its sad to see him not finish what he had started today. You can tell he wants it more than anyone, but just doesn't have it.
Mind, Contador isn't pathetic, he is the opposite. The sight of him dropping like that was and I'd wish it wasn't so. Contador/Quintana should have won today, not Brambi. |

It's the same thing everytime and the agenda is just boring. He wins Giro but is too exhausted in le Tour and people call quits on him. He was shit in 2013 and people call quits on him. Cycling is just a village of gossip, waiting to push the next cow through the village, and they just love to toss Contador. Anybody who is declaring Contador does not have it anymore is has been saying the same everytime he showed weakness. When will people accept that you can bounce back from a shit form? Form is temporary, class is permanent.

The downfall of your body as an athlete must be psychologically one the hardest things to endure. It will be interesting to see Contador's objectives for the next season. |

You mean in the race or in the stage? 'cause if you ask me, I wasn't seeing Quintana as a leader by the end of the Vuelta. I don't know who could have predicted a stage like this one! |

I'm pretty sure Brambi and Etixx invested just as much in that stage just as Tinkoff and Movistar did, stop being a cunt and appreciate that its not your fucking favourite rider that deserves to win all the time

I don't like Astana show. If you are the best cycling team, as SKY, your bad day can't be repair by another team. That is bad for competition. |

They obviously didn't invest as much - thats pretty stupid to say.
Im just off the belief that stages like this should be won by the protagonists, the greatest riders. You can disagree all you want with that, but please refrain from calling me a cunt based on that. |
