Very good news.
Interesting to see what that will do to Chinese cycling... |

Bye iconic lampre jersey, hello new chinese involvement. It was a matter of time.
"One of the commitment of TJ Sport Consultation, whose president is Mr Li Zhiqiang, is the development of the cycling in all its usage purposes: cycling as a means of transport which promotes a sustainable mobility and cycling as sports to be developed in all its disciplines and categories," read the team statement.

The one on the photo? It's just a "special memorial jersey", not team kit

According to CN, Gianette will be the coordinator of the project.

Then no WT-license for Bahrain? Or is the Chinese team going to PCT?

There's going to be a hard fight between Barhain, Bora and Lampre for the last 2 WT license.
If UCI bases in sportive criterio, Lampre should not be able to keep their place. (Having Nibali in Barhein and Sagan in Bora, hard to equalize) |

The Chinese wanted to buy ASO or RCS by the way. UCI want to clean up the image of the cycling in Germany after all those doping scandals (ASO will reestablish Tour of Germany). As for the Arabs - $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

From the Bulgarian Eurosport I've heard that Euskadi Basque Country - Murias will try to apply for PCT license. Don't know if this is true however

I don't think Red Bull are interested in road cycling - they sponsor MTB and BMX individual riders, but aren't keen on getting into road cycling.
And they won't get that much in revenues in cycling like in Formula 1 or football. Unless the money distribution changes, forget seeing Red Bull owning/sponsoring cycling team.

I just don't hope it becomes like F1, but from the way it looks like it

Now can someonle clarify me why UCI all of a sudden decided to decrease the number of World Teams to 17 for next year and to 16 in 2018? And should UCI have say which PCT qualify for GT wildcards to avoid filler teams?
Also how the UCI points are calculated in order to obtain WT license (I've heard that Sagan has more points than the whole Lampre team)

The agreement between ASO and UCI include that the WT Teams have to be reduced to 17 in 2017 and to 16 from 2018, so they could be able to have more invitations for other teams for their races
They didn't explained how they decide which team would be WT for 2017 if more teams request a license |

How chauvinistic from ASO - they want this so they can invite their weak local teams like Delko and Fortuneo. UCI need to stop this practice. I want to see a competitive and different PCT teams - not the same old weak French teams.
