I managed to see the riders and take a photo of the breakaway before going back to the apartment to watch the finale of the race.

I must admit it gives some chills down the spine to see an old childhood friend ond the podium at the olympics receiving a silver medal. Wow Jakob, so well deserved!
A great race, that shows how routes can be designed to create a great race, although crashes in the finals are never good. Despite the group crashing, Greg Van Avermaet really deserves a big win like this. Always animating races with his aggressive style. What a likable rider.

Just think if Sagan raced today the Danes would be celebrating bronze. |

Great cycling race. Small teams and no radios = entertainment.
Reminds me of how boring Tour de France and Ardennes classics is. |

I was gutted for Majka. 1,5km less and he would have taken it. But that fatal crash... boy I wouldn't want to be italian or colombian now, poor guys.
I'm not much of a fan of GvA, but great race for him. Congrats Belgium!
Biggest disappointment for me were the dutch. Such a good team, but they were nowhere to be seen. Not even in the crashes!
Rui Costa was all but himselfmtoday. He looked very strong, but he just couldn't pick the right moment. Still 10th is a very honourable result.
A final word for the racing. Excellent entertainment. Small teams is so much better! It's so much harder to control!

Poels crashed, Kruijswijk was Kruijswijk, Mochema returned to form and Dumoulin is injured. was a bad day for #TeamNL in general. womens handball lost, mans hockey tied, cycling was a failure and Bertens lost in tennis. Swimming needs to save the day

Ah thanks for clearing that out. They did actually crash then!

Yes , one day 5, stage race 5 with 3-4 substitutes in case of illness or crash.

He's crying in the corner. Fuglsang is a "diesel" afterall
I don't quite understand... Don't I like 'diesels' or have I incorrectly described him as a 'diesel'?
Very good race. Would have been a shame if Majka won, so good on Fuglsang and GVA to go up the road and catch him. Once they did, GVA was obviously gonna win. What a rider!
On a sidenote, Fuglsang should drop GT's and start focusing on tough one days races and one weekers instead. The best and most aggressive Fuglsang I have seen. Must have been the kit.
.. and damn, us Danes must be annoying. Reading through the comments... I didn't realise there were that many. Just imagine if we actually had won something.

That would be absolutely different race. Not even worth trying to predict/think about. Race was run, now enjoy/hate results.
I'm looking for professional slovak team. Haven't you seen any?

Good race. The proof that 6 men teams are the way to go <3
Very good route as well. Despite beeing Brasil, wouldn't mind seeing a one day classic hosted here, in this route. Much better than having a race in Abu Dhabi.
GvA deserved it. Would've killed myself had Majka won it. You complained about Costa wheelsucking to 2013 World Title. This would've been worse... Felt good seeing Costa dropping FroomeDog as well. Costa could've done better... But Porte fell in front of him and he lost contact. Shame
Bring on TT next.. Go Oliveira! |

No, he deserved it not and he wheelsucking also just.
Nibali deserved it most and after him Fuglsang.
But deserved does not matter in sports. |

He stil managed to pull ton's of wheelsucking even when he was back. Later he wheelsucked crashed Thomas..and sprinted before him over the line. What a hero.
He is still one the best wheel suckers in the peloton. |

He is best with One week races.
He had amazing legs on that hard Olympic race yesterday. One day races need more and more kick..it is quite rare that we see solo rides at one day classics. |
