Wait - didn't Orica had zero tolerance on doping? Kreuziger had bio-pasport anomalies and was accused of using PED while being in Astana.

Orica is full of guys who've had semi-suspensions: Yates, Impey, Plaza, Kreuziger.

And they also have Matt White (US Postal) and Niel Stephens (Festina) on staff plus a very suspect Spanish "doctor". Anyway OBE don't have a zero tolerance policy

It really depends what you define as zero tolerance, as long as riders/staff haven't had a sentence for doping all your basing it of off is suspicion. You are not guilty as long as it isnt proven.

It's not suspicion if they have admitted to doping which both White and Stephens have done, my point was that OBE don't really have a ZTP

Benatti to Movistar is good for Movistar bc Benatti has still got killer instinct and can get some small wins, but I would have liked to see him finish his career alongside Contador at Trek's retirement home. He has been of great assistance to him and they are real good friends. Trek is just the perfect place for oldtimers.

Hesjedal will retire.

Pretty sad for me as I always really liked his riding style and tactical play. Shame to see him go out like this; he basically only rode one big race this year for himself and crashed out. Weird to see him go out on such a low note without giving it one last try but it's his decision.

Looks like Canadian cycling might die with him.

Benatti might be the windprotection that Quintana needs, seems like a cod rider to get on a contract.

Movistar probably don't give a rats ass about his killer instinct or small win, all he is hired for, IMO, is to assists Nairo/Valverde in GTs. An odd win here of there is obviously a bonus, but nothing of real importance in the grand scheme of things.

Lobato to LottoNL Confirmend

Always see the bright Side of life!

Hopefully it wont mean less opportunities for Marco Hofland who had a really decent run at PDR.

Yeah, cycling hasn't been getting more popular the last few years, thats for sure, but there are still some great young riders and a couple good riders still active, Michael Woods f.e., but it really seemed like it was on the rise with Hesjedal and Spidertech a couple years ago, both seeming to do well.

Track cycling on the other hand, I believe we are still quite good at that, and I know Canada is also quite good at the Triathalon events so I've never understood why we weren't better represented for road cycling. Either way, yeah one of my favourite riders when I was first getting into cycling, so I will miss him but he hasn't really done much the past few years besides crash.

It's been two decades focusing on the competition of cycling in two different disciplines, and now I want to use that experience in other ways.

I wonder if that means he will still be active in the sport, in some form.

Lobato is really a niche rider. He has the potential to be one of the best uphill sprinters in the world, but really isn't fast on flat roads. Very one sided, but decent for both parts IMO.

I like that guy. But he was clearly fading away. Last year last week..was last wow from Ryder.
This year also I hoped that he will be great..but sadly faded Gibo Simoni at last years.

Well so long Ryder, at least you had a grand tour under your belt. I sense that he's still going to be active in road cycling. Management I guess?

Surprising move by Lobato. I like his aim for a new chance, but don´t know if LottoNL is the right place for that with their quantity of (hilly-) sprinters. In my eyes he can still be a Top 8 sprinter (didn´t he also have one really good tour with 3rd at Champs Elysee when Quintana wasn´t team leader?). Still has the potential to improve his results a lot with the right team & focus I guess. And to all the fanboys: I think that he´ll be the fastest man at Lotto-NL next year.

Bora is building a really nice sprinters talent pool with Bauhaus, Bennett, Kolar and Baska...& especially Archbold - Bennett - Sagan could become a pretty scary last km train

I don't see Lobato being faster then Groenewegen, although I haven't took notice of Lobato like ever.

edit: glad for the transfer though, nice to see more internationals at the what used to basically be "dutch national team after national teams were disbanded"

Choklets
I have searched and...indeed i was wrong, have mixed you up with Choklets, who was saying something about bunch of useless slovakians following Sagan as the package. So sorry for that push. Pfft

Never used those exact words. Not even meant that meaning.

But am still not convinced by that entourage / package deal.

Not convinced by Bora-hansgrohe's WT ambitions. One Sagan doesn't make a WT team.

Speci wants to strenghtend their position on the german market.
So Bora gets a german co-sponser and then signs a ton of non-german riders.
Makes sense...not. Ofc Sagan is a high profile signing and he's popular.

Ignorant male chauvanists, what about the rise of Leah Kirchman and watch out as Tara Whitten should bag a medal at Rio in the TT Pfft Canadian cycling is fine, it's just all about the Y chromosomes Wink

That´s what I was pointing at Pfft and exactly because of that thoughts of a dutch team (which is normal and after the latest results really well grounded) I´m sceptical with that move...Give Lobato the captain role and 2-3 riders dedicated to him and he will produce GT Top5's en masse.

He only rode Tour when we was in Euskaltel, in 2013. He finished 5th in a stage won by Greipel, in Montpellier. That's his best result in a Tour's stage. In Giro, he was 2nd after Ulissi in 7th stage last year
