Hello.
I've just now started my first ever career mode where I'm past the scheduling (it's killed me in this and the 2015 version).
In short, I made a custom Danish team and primarily signed younger Danish riders.
Stars are Magnus Cort-Nielsen (Sprinter) and Michael Valgren (Puncher) and then some 67-72'ish overall, mainly baroudeurs, sprinters and punchers. No real climbers.
However, I was wondering if it's possible to do a few things different.
1) I started this without ever looking at the planning part. I simply ignored my schedule and simply raced (3 months) of pre-scheduled races where there were objectives from sponsors and completely ignored riders (Valgren wanted Paris-Nice, Cort-Nielsen wanted TA...) Is it possible to play, simply continuing to ignore planning and just add riders as I go?
2) It seems like, from my Be a Pro experience, that French teams often attract French riders, Germans to German teams and so on. Is it pure coincidence, or is there something like "favor same nationality" for teams or riders?
3) I'm a bit of a francophile when it comes to cycling, so I'd like to make a team primarily of French, Danish and then other scandinavian nationalities (maybe the odd Andorran regen or whatever). Would I then be better off starting as a French based team compared to a Danish, or doesn't it matter at all?
4) When I make a custom team, the max budget is 800k it seems. I made a 260k sponsor deal with the small (11 riders) Danish team I made the first time around. If I use more money on better riders, will the sponsorship be better too? Should I go for that?
5) When I get a new sponsor, will my team change nationality or will the nationality stay the same no matter what? |

To answer the first quesiton, I never schedule even though I probably should so its possible but not optimal obviously.
Oh and to the last one, its sadly doesnt change nationality, but obviously the key areas(countries) from the sponsor changes.

Oh how I wish my initial jersey/sponsor selection would purely be the looks. Then I'd ride as 'Viking' all the time.
No way I'll be a Norwegian team though. |

A couple of questions about sponsors.
I'm currently in the middle of June 2018, 3rd year of my team career and my sponsorship is running out.
1) What is the deadline to sign a new sponsor deal?
2) I currently have rockdog.dk as my sponsor, if I change to a Pss3 Sozy (Japan) or Ovafone (UK), will they expect me to sign riders from there - or primarily do well in the races that takes place there?
3) What does the reputation of a sponsor mean for me as the player? I have two offers from the UK; Ovafone offers more money, but National Bing has Legendary (vs International) reputation.
Thanks in advance. |

1) October 24th
2) Sign riders from there and score good results in objective races they'll set for you - you can check those numbers in dyn_sponsor region to know how much of your team needs to be from a certain region to fully please your sponsor
3) Legendary gives more money than International. Then there's national and at the bottom of the ladder there you have regional.

So you're saying the game lies to me?
Ovafone offers €315k/month while National Bing "only" offers €305k.
In the end, the reputation means National Bing will go higher though... or?
Thanks for the other replies. |

Well well not sure which other factors come into play but on average Legendary normally offers more than International. The reputation affects money and the request of the popularity of the top rider in your roster - as long as he comes from the region they want.

Right.
I ended up signing with Red Bull from Austria. I have one or two Austrian riders who are decent, so I hope they'll be happy. |

So I signed with Red Bull (Red Poule) which should be worth just shy of €320k/month.
Now the new season started and my 2019 budget is only €206.231/month. WTF?
How am I supposed to stay up in World Tour on that kind of money? It was sorta hard with only €320k, but this? |

In PCM2015, there was a pack that meant that the Tour de France, Giro, Vuelta, etc. wasn't always the same route. Is there one like that around this year too? |

Does anyone know why in the pro cyclist mode I can't put my teammates on effort? With that dot? Can't build my sprint train without it and always have to try and catch others |

@David: Wrong thread. This thread is about the career mode, not Pro Cyclist Mode.
@FasT: Wrong answer. ;-)
In the Pro Cyclist mode it is never possible to use the dot or the attack/sprint order on your team mates. I think it is on purpose but obviously it makes it impossible to build a sprint train (except maybe with very strong flat riders). It has already been reported in the technical support forum on Steam but maybe it would be good if many more people would report that problem. |

Wondering about leaders in career mode.
Currently, entering the 2020 season, I have 8 leaders. Haven't had more than 5 any of the previous seasons.
Seemed it was all my riders with 76 OVR or higher, but it isn't. I have a 76 climber who aren't a leader. |
