I had Carthy but got a random rider when the startlist was confirmed and Carthy removed. I took the random out though...for another random of course. |

By the way the dominant rider of the last few years, Veloso, had a mechanical during the 4 odd minute prologue and still finished 18th, losing only 11 seconds |

My favorite part of Velogames Portugal is picking all the washed up guys who used to be WT leaders and are now on CT teams I've never heard of.
I mean Stefan Schumacher is still riding. What the hell?

So how many are stuck with non-starters Bernal and Carthy?

Well I got over the first hurdle in that all of my riders started.
Decent start for me. 6th place so far although I've no doubt I'll drift down the table over the week.
I'm going to be a way from work for a couple of weeks soon and so may not have access to my spread sheet until I'll get back. I'll update the table upon my return however there might be a delay.
Cheers |

He did but only has 1 GC guy so it will be interesting to see how he goes once they head uphill

Veloso is a beast in Portugal, the numbers he was pushing out on the climbs last year would of had Froome getting dropped easily.... I wonder why these guys can't put out those numbers outside of the Volta

I did not want to pick Veloso - he is very exp. and his results havent been great, besides his wins in this race the last two years.
Hopefully my boys will become GC guy's:
José Gonçalves:
Just won tour of turkey
Joni Brandão:
Won :Tour de Cova da Beira, 3th in Vuelta a Castilla y León
Rodolfo Torres: have won several mountain classifications in 2015
32 in Vuelta Esp. 2015
Nikita Stalnov:
Ok season so far:
3rd Overall Tour of Turkey
3rd Overall Tour d'Azerbaïdjan
3rd Overall Tour of Ukraine
Lachlan Norris
8th Overall Tour de Langkawi, not a pertect climber, but OK
But offcourse it is a gamble - dont know much about anyone in this race.

Yes, looked like he was of the bike two times due to mechanical issues, he would have won without it.

Down to 11th as expected. The even worse news is there are now 27 competitors so I'll probably end up with 0 points as usual |

Make that 28.
Went to check how my team was doing and realsied I hadn't joined the league - joined now and found myself in 6th place! Need a boost after missing out on Sagan in Le Tour.

Well having Gavazzi was nice today, a very well timed sprint up that final rise for the win. Goncalves seemed to launch a very long one for such a finish but held on pretty well considering. |
