It makes you wonder - just say thanks in person?
Anyway only the difference between 9th and 10th and not crucial but still. |

Why should Martin get a penalty? Surely this Tour has proven that the rules can be ignored or just made up. The Yates incident, Aru getting multiple sticky bidons racing back onto the peloton, Ventoux, deciding to invoke the 3 k rule today even when the crash occurred outside of the 3 k's. Looking at it in this light then Martin deserves no punishment. Farcical end to a farcical Tour

nothing, afaik it was deemed as only holding on as retaining balance rather than to gain advantage from the motorbike

Dont think so, think it was ruled as a part of the Froome clownfiesta as well.

Sagan nearly pulled that off too, monster skid and all. Loved the camera angle from the side!
Griepel 2peat
That slide camera has been there at least 6-7 years. Great view. Specially to watch Cav. domination on that camera..Great view.
Happy for Greipel. Great rider and person..got he's win. Sweet
I remember how he was water carrier many days for teammates.
Re watched a sprint. Sagan that guy. I think we have told here about 1500x that this man is strong. I just have to say it again.
he was dragging Kreuziger 50km. at mountains yesterday...and still today he was strong as Greipel today. he had plan and power for final kick..to get pass Greipel. Slippery surface stopped him today to get more closer with Greipel..two final kicks he had wheel spin. p.s. Greipel also made bike throw today..do not repeat Kristoff mistake.

amazing that Greipel´s streak continues...didn´t expect that as he looked so good on the climbs that I thought he would´ve lost his power to pull out a sprint like this (which still was far from his best sprints)...

He had a super ideal position. Kristoff went too early with his leadout and Sagan was faster, but too late and slipped...

so basically Kristoff did what Greipel did the first 2 weeks to the Sagan point: let´s not forget it was heavy headwind, so going earlier might not have been better...I guess it´s a deserved win for Lotto looking at the effort they put into sprint finishes this tour - maybe the most of all teams...

A sprint at the end of a 3 week Tour is vastly different than a normal sprint, it's all about who's come through the race with some energy left so seeing that it was Greipel and Sagan fighting it out with daylight to third makes perfect sense.

great result also for Sam Bennett...to continue the tour after that crash and even Top10 on the Champs Elysee without his personal helper is just stunning!
