For me it has been Froome, attacking downhill, winning the mountain time trail, finishing 2nd on a flat stage. He hasn't won the Tour de France in just mountains he has won this race because he has been smart and out smarted his opponents. Yes he has a great team around but so does Quintana. Froome has shown grit, fight and a never give up attitude, on Ventoux and Mont Blanc. He has shown everything you need to be the best and most complete Grand Tour rider of his generation and the last 15 years.
I met and shook Froome's hand in London during the 2012 Olympics, he had no Tour de France wins to his name and now he will be claiming his third tomorrow to go down in British Sporting history forever. I do believe he can break the record set by Anquetiel and co, he is 31 and no one is even close to him yet.
But also Alejandro Valverde, podium in the Giro and top 6 in Tour with Ardennes classic win to his name, what a fantastic season for someone who should be in the Autumn of his career but still proving to be one of the best.

Went for Pantano, purely because he has been such an attacking rider and could be considered unlucky to only win the one stage. It's great to see from him!
I was very impressed with Valverde who, in my opinion, looked stronger than Quintana. He worked hard for his leader and got nothing in return from the younger man. All in all, great from him.
Have to be impressed with the Meintjes over the last three weeks. Great work from him and with some luck may have finished even higher than 8th. Definitely someone to look out for in the future.
Bardet has been a pleasure to watch given that he has many years ahead of him. Definitely the most attacking of the non-Froome GC contenders and deserves his place on the podium.
Yates too has been impressive given I don't think too much was expected of him? Had a tough stage or two but he wasn't far off the podium.
Overall, despite the Froome dominance, this was a promising tour for a bunch of young riders showing what they will be capable of in the future. Meintjes (24), Bardet (25), Yates (23), Aru (26), Nairo (26) and even Pantano (27) have all shown what they are capable of and give GT's an exciting future!

Froome. Great leader and tactics, as always in control of himself and his team, even when something unexpected happens. The only one who dared to take the chance to attack for win. Both on descents, crosswinds and on mountain and smashes them on TT. A great champion. |

Rui Costa! He's not on the poll but I'm voting for him. He switched back to being a entertaining attacking stage hunter and gave up on being a GT GC guy which he was never going to make it as. None of his attacks stuck in this Tour but he kept trying pretty much the entire race and even on stages he didn't stand a chance at winning such as stage 16. Sometimes it's not all about winning

Sagan without a doubt. That guy has not only won 3 stages and a green jersey. Without him the team would not have had the polka dots with Majka or the top 10 for Kreuziger. Sagan basically counts for 3.
Stef Clement also deserves a mention in here I guess. The guy's gone from not reaching a time limit in 2007 to an 18th place this year. That's an amazing achievement, and he helped Pantano to reach his stagewin. He had to tell Pantano and the team he was actually the stronger guy. In the situation the team is in that is quite admirable, especailly considering Clement does not have a contract yet.

Quintana, the way he fell away in the last 2 weeks was fun to see happen to such a hypejob. He lost his 3 mins in GC after the 1st TT as expected and just did fuck all since then... Even lost his prized 2nd place in GC 
Still, the way he wheelsucked to Paris was quite majestic

There have been many impressive rides this Tour. It's hard to say. It's between Froome and Sagan for me in the end. They were both exceptional on virtually all terrains. |

Probs to Quintana for being agressive, eventhough he clearly didnt have it this tour. You can't say he didnt try though.
And since Quintana didnt have the legs and Contador crashed out, we were doomed to get a boring tour, unfortunatly.
It's between De Gendt and Cavendish for me, both performed way over my expectations this tour.
Cav edges it for me, since him winning 5 stages was the most unlikely scenario pre-tour.

A lot riders were impressive to me. Cavendish because I didn't thought he could win 4 stages, Pantano/De Gendt/Majka were fun to watch in breakaways. Sagan of course because it freaking Peto Sagan. Or Yates/Meintjes, I'm glad they managed to get top 10.
I don't think any others GC guys were impressive to me. This Tour was just lame to watch because of Skybots. Except sprint stages or breakaways  . I didn't thought I will say this but for me, yeah, those were better stages to watch than mountain ones.
More hills next year please .
Ah yes, my vote goes to Pantano. I would vote for Sagan but 5th green jerseys in a row... It becomes just normal to me. |

Good point, and also finishing 6th while being quite a good team-mate for Quintana too, not to Poels level, but in his own way definitely supported Nairo well.
Also for me, I feel like Froome looked the weakest of all the 3 TDF wins hes had so far, but so did Quintana, who actually looked pretty bad by the end of it. Overall it was a pretty boring GC battle though, but maybe thats just me, I was watching recordings almost a week behind for most of the race so I skipped thru a lot of the stages.
