@alex Dont you know, Valverde always dreamed of becomming a sprinter and I'll let him think he's just that as long he performs.
@ko If Kump performs accordingly, I will look after him for longer than that
Riders fed up with crappy management
Due to barely surviving last season, in the teams debut in PCT, quite a few riders of the former ONCE team, are mishappy with how the manager Dev are handling things and sent their wishes about being transferred out.
Is there one thing you don't need in a team who wishes to fight in the top, is it unhappy and low-morale riders. Due to the managers niceness, he granted most of the villains their wishes and kicket their sorry asses goodbye.
The following whiners have been to sent to new sugarmommies, and is now their problem, not ours.
Igor Antón | 170k | 33 yrs
A more greedy bastard is hard to find. Just because he's all of spains lover-boy, doesnt mean he don't have to perform on the bike. Didnt to anything for the team last season really.
Marco Guillén | 100k | 29 yrs
One poor season, and he wants back to lower level of cycling immediately. Still have some great memories with the team, and he said that if we ever relegate again, be sure to hit him up.
César Rojas Villegas | 100k | 28 yrs
Came because of his nationality and left for the same reason. Never great, except fullfilling one of the team goals once.
Jose Luis Cano | 0k | 28 yrs
No guillen, no cano. Has been okay, but time for some fresh blood.
Jarlinson Pantano Goméz| 250k | 28 yrs
Underperformed and messed up on all the important races throughout the season. A massive dissapoitment, who dont deserve a second chance.
Thomas Bonnin | 250k | 27 yrs
Needet the cash and wage for other projects at the time.
Nazar Jumabekov | 50k | 29 yrs
A kazakh team came to MG again.
Spoiler Obviously just joking around, so plz dont take offence Wanted to try to announce some of the riders department slightly different than the standard thankyou-speach

Suprising turn of events
We got all our wanted and expected team leaders pretty early in the transfers, and we didnt expect to attract another big name to the team.
How wrong can you get?
When this portuguese were listed as avaible, we knew straight away we had to get him. Even if it would cause the team to stay away from pre-season trainings camps due to the lack of funds.
For a fee of no less than 1,5m, we are proud to welcome Rui Costa!
FL | MT | HL | TT | ST | RE | RC | CB | SP | AC | FT | DH | PR | 70 | 71 | 80 | 76 | 73 | 72 | 72 | 61 | 69 | 72 | 66 | 63 | 76 |
Not only is he one of the top puncheurs in the division, he is also great against the clock. Thats were we are hoping he will get the advantage over his rivals and decide the race in his favor.

Yup, that also holds up for the real Igor Anton. Pretty sure every manager since Euskadi days talks about him that way
Gratz to signing Rui Costa. May you succeed in making life difficult for Arrinera's hill squadron.

The PT wildcards final decision has just been posted by #MGUCI and it contains some positive content for the spanish PCT team...
After racing the giro last year, the team looked to get new experiences in the top level of this year. And it looks like are wishes are comming trough!
The list of final wildcards showed that the team not only got to race our home race, Vuelta al Pais Vasco, which are one of our leaders, the basque puncheur Pello Bilbao's big targets over the season, but also the total of 4 (!) other wildcards.
The momumentual race Milan San Remo is taillor made for our captain, Marko Kump. So no surprise we chased a wildcard there to satisfy his needs considering he's racing mainly C1 and HC races otherwise. Since theres no clashes in the calender that date, we will bring all our strongest riders to help him achieve a respectworthy result in our first momument ever.
Our third wildcard, Amstel Gold Race is one of the big hilly classics and we are happy to say that our third team leader, Rui Costa also will get a chance to lead the team to glora at PT level.
The PT wildcard races, Deutschland Tour and Strada Appia Antica were just a big bonus to get.

*These two riders are only stagiares
Manager's thoughts: To begin, we're certainly in possession of a much stronger team allround than last year, with upgrades in every apartment except for a big downgrade in the climbing area. But that is a sacrifice we were willing to take and we think paid off.
Considering the competition in PCT this year, which is stronger than ever, especially in the mountain terraign, we switched our main focus over to hills and brought in three key riders for this terraign, Kump, Costa and Bilbao. Those three will also define our entire season, with either leading to promotion or relegation or just finishing mid-position, with the last option being the more likely one. Beside our three captains, we have a great TT-ist in Salas, who's finally maxed, he will be accompanied in our TT-races by Ligthart, brought in from the TT-gurus themselfs, Jayco's.
Speaking of maxed riders, the two lvl. 1 riders we brought in on our first MG season, Slagter and Mudarra, have both reached their potentials and we are looking forward to see if the long-term investment were worth it. Slagter is especially interesting, since he got a great MT/HL combo and will get to lead the team on several occasions due to that fact.
With the addition of superstar Kump, we had to get some extra men just to give him the best possible support in all his starts, with that being strong alround punchy sprinters, who can stay finish a hard race in the front group and still be a possible lead-out for Kump in the final. Those riders are Ventoso, Jans and Marcato. When Kump isnt racing, they are strong enough to get some solo success aswell.
As some might remember, we started out as a Costa rican based team, but now we only have a single costa rican left. While that saddens us, we are happy to know that we are being replaced by a new Costa rican team forming in CT this year. Team Ticos Air Costa Rica, which also where to new destination for our sole sprint leader for 3 seasons, but after a dissapointing debut in PCT, we had to let him go. In his replacement, we got one of spains faster men in Jon Aberasturi. We are hoping for some more consistent racing from this guy than Guillén could deliver us!
Considering the top, top competition in our division this year (in all divisions even) we have come to the conclusion that promotion will get tough this year and we will finish some spots below that possibillity. So the expected position to finish in will be 12th in PCT this year.

The PCT version of my team. Big fan
Hilly sprinters ftw!
I really think the heavy focus on hills while neglecting mountains will pay off.

Manager thoughts: It's probably the best suited race for Kump throughout the whole season. Therefore are we avoiding sending other team leaders like Bilbao and Costa here, to give Kump the pure leadership. He should have domestiques for any situation really, and the only thing we are worried about is if he can deliver himself.
Squad:
Marko Kump | 74 | 66 | 76 | 63 | 76 | 73 | 80 | 73 | 79 | 80 | 70 | 73 | 70 | Mikel Landa | 65 | 69 | 78 | 57 | 70 | 69 | 70 | 50 | 61 | 69 | 74 | 67 | 57 | Franscisco Ventoso | 73 | 64 | 74 | 58 | 74 | 69 | 72 | 71 | 76 | 74 | 55 | 60 | 58 | Roy Jans | 76 | 53 | 74 | 63 | 74 | 73 | 65 | 68 | 74 | 74 | 68 | 70 | 66 | Taylor Tolleson | 76 | 67 | 68 | 65 | 69 | 70 | 72 | 58 | 76 | 75 | 72 | 67 | 72 | Marco Marcato | 73 | 69 | 73 | 64 | 72 | 72 | 67 | 73 | 75 | 73 | 71 | 73 | 62 | Segundo Navarrete | 73 | 60 | 69 | 74 | 69 | 72 | 68 | 56 | 73 | 72 | 66 | 67 | 73 | Carlos Barbero | 73 | 65 | 73 | 64 | 74 | 71 | 67 | 60 | 69 | 72 | 74 | 71 | 67 |

If the AI doesn´t treat Landa as the hilly captain this could turn out to be stunning...I wish you all the best, a great hilly-sprint train you have got there!

Thanks for that Yeah, picking Landa could really backfire if thats the case, as I picked him incase Kump would get yellow before Willunga and could use some proper support - AI failling me there could ruin not only this race, but practically most of Kumps races throughout the season. I hope the AI could atleast handle more than one leader if thats the case though

Very impressive squad you got. A lot of familiar names of guys I wish I still had *cough* Costa *cough* or guys I had looked at signing in the past.
I'll certainly be tracking your progress throughout the PCT season.

Appreciate hearing that from a very experienced manager! Yeah you had some very good riders before which I definetely had to get my hands on Will be interesting to see how Costa can do after a mediocre season last year!

Tsoukina is definetely a decent stagiare! Hopefully you are right about Costa and Kump, but are riders who could very well 'flop' this season. Atleast the lack of support shouldnt be the reason to why they are failing

First podium in our debut race of the season!
It wasnt looking too good with 150m left to the line, but Marko had a great final punch and advantaged all the way to 2nd in the end!
The PR-team tweeted this shortly afterwards the race was over, not seemingly too upset with the result of the day;
