Cav. has he punishment from 2009..and it was hard one..lost green on that situation.
He was trying to win time..to but breakaway teammate Hincapie in yellow

Everyone knows I'm no Cav fan but I think it's pretty obvious that even if he did swerve a little it did not impact who won the race.

Nothing wrong with that sprint, Kittel was just beaten by a faster Cav, Kittel went too early.

kittel is the worlds best leadout man. gave cavendish a perfect one

shame he then swerved at cavendish causing cavendish to swerve back

SSJ2Luigi
3 germans just outside the podium, and Dumoulin 10th after the dutch commentators made a mention of him after talking about Tom XD.

edit: didn't see anything wrong with that sprint, actually completely did not notice Cavendish at all. was looking to the far l̶e̶f̶t̶ right Embarassed

Not sprint trains this year..sprinter with experience-timing ..has been succesful.
Irony..Ettix swop Cav. to Kittel. Well nobody dreamed that Cav. will be that good.

The one on Hushovd? That was the right decision. And today Cav was in the middle and went towards Kittel quite abit. So I would not be too surprised if Cav got deplaced, but I dont think it will happen.
Sport freak. Mostly interested in Football (Liverpool, Rosenborg with more), increasing interest in cycling.
Also big Formula 1 fan. Ferrari <3

At 2016 UCI wont be deciding that way anymore..we are politically correct now.
Decide green jersey back then was just lame...

and no they wont change it today. If Kristoff wants stage win..he need to cross line first..Smile

Wow quite the power Sagan is producing. He might be a challenger for the Champs Elysse stage. He seems to conserve his energy well.

No he has not Cavendish timing and placement Wink

Now there's 2 flat stages left so probably Cav will get some more.

Kittel had no reason to complain really, had no chance anyways and Cav kept his line pretty well, no massive swerves or something. Kittel just crying for attention.

yes and no...Kittel wouldn´t have won and Cav would´ve won anyway, there I agree - still he crossed Kittels line and made it unable for Kittel to sprint his line, that´s why he has to get set back

Kittel doing a Mars today

Anyway, nothing to complain about, as fjhoekie and Croatia14 already said. He was clearly not gonna win, so meh. Even if he had presented a complaint, Kristoff would have won, and not Kittel

Very nice for both Kristoff and Degenkolb who are in a sprint properly for the first time this Tour, and very amazing for Sagan who advanced tooooooooooooooo fast but a shame he couldn't win

Pretty blatant Cav fan here and that was a perfect sprint Wink But seriously, if he had gotten demoted for that it would have been a joke and we'd have to re-order a lot of sprints.

4 to go and two decent-ish sprints left in this race. 2017 could bring us major history, unprecidented history! My man can go all the way to true eternal greatness.

Not to underestimate the key importance of positioning and timing in all this but Cav's return to top form comes when he is back to struggling on the climbs. What with all the track training it seems he is carrying extra weight but packing extra power, like the early Highroad days.

Tomorrow is likely to be another struggle to make the Grupetto but if he keeps managing to hold on his recovery has always been incredible.

Further to the above on Cav's resurgence an interesting insight into him and the whole Dimension Data setup that seems to have worked out for the likes of Cummings and EBH too https://cyclingtip...mojo-back/

Quote from Cavendish on it after this stage 14 win:

“It is the track [which has made the difference], but it not what people think,” he stated after his fourth win. “It is not that I have more leg speed or strength. I am absolutely the same physically as I have been in the last years.

“I think it is just that you refresh your racing nous when you are riding the track. You learn to be patient and to assess situations really quickly. I think that has been quite a key pointer this year. I have been a lot more patient than I was last year.

“You can see today [at the finish of stage 14]…it is normally the instinct to jump when the person in front of you jumps. I knew Marcel [Kittel] would be on the front early. I assessed with two kilometres to go that he only had four guys and that is not enough into a headwind…
It is a case of just waiting until he lost his peak speed and jumping around him in the final.”
