Le Tour de France 2016 | Stage 4 Saumur -> Limoges
jandal7
Hoping for a Cummings move, maybe a bit too made for certain sprinters for him to be let go.
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Greipel or Kristoff for me.

Ah, heard somewhere Mathews isn't confident in the situation. Could have been wrong.

Could be a little from both, Orica did say that both Matthews and Gerrans wouldn't be mixing it up as they don't want to blow there chances on stages that suit by crashing in a mass sprint, they also said it's because of crashes in previous Tours that has ruined the race those two. Even if it's a confidence issue it still makes sense as neither of those two are going to win a proper bunch sprint.

Danish commentator and former rider Rolf Sørensen says with 99% certainty that this definitely is too hard for Kittel. 5-7% on the finish. Also says that its way more hilly the last 80 kilometres than the route map suggests, predicts type like Alapihlippe, GVA, Matthews and even Valverde to contest - Greipel and Cav, maybe too hard, maybe not.

Should be a good an unpredictable finish, but Sagan has to be the big favourite on a finish like that. Lets also remember the stage is 240 km, that will surely take some kick out of the fastmen.

Sagan got to step up for sure, cause Cavendish is a real danger for the points jersey the way he is riding, and with the TDF organizers trying to take the jersey from Sagan year after year, we might for the first time in a few years, have a real challenge on his hands Wink

Cav will most likely pull out of TdF early to prep Rio.

If anything Cav has made it easier for Sagan by taking two wins for that reason. Although if Mark got another win tomorrow, i wouldn't be half surprised to see him stick out a touch longer and see what happens, but he won't win tomorrow so it's moot.

That's a good point. A green jersey versus an olympic medal doesn't stack up at all, and he probably needs to train a bit before the olympics if he wants a shot at some metal.

Green belongs to Sagan..Cav. has no opportunity or interest there. He is more interested Champ Elysee stage..and now also about Tour Stage win record.

You still underestimating Greipel. He is much stronger then Cav. has shown that ability at Paris-Roubaix, Flanders...last year tour..etc.
When sprinters has chances to survive he will be there

Lol.

Im writing what he said. Nothing more.
And when have I underestimated Greipel? Is it a trait of mine? He is the one I like the best out of Greipel, Cav and Kittel, the 3 big, more or less pure sprinters (altho Greipel obviously is much more than that).

Le Coq might win this. Discuss

I´m sure Gougeard will be the strongest of the group in front...if they get a lot of time and it´s coming rather close at the end he might end up having a shot on a solo victory...

He just might. Probably the 3-4th favourite today. Who knows, its a perfect finish for him.

More interestingly, and I know its stage 5 and not 4, Im looking forward to how Sky or other GC-teams will ride tomorrow. They would be stupid not to try and eliminate Contador.

Gougeard got dropped, right? Or where did he go?

Yes, dropped.

But he should be the strongest on paper, he just seems in horrible shape, relatively ofc.

what I´ve read is that he let himself fall due to not having any chance and to help his mates in the peloton, but I haven´t seen any pictures yet...

Alaphilippe can also take yellow. Kittel most likely dropped already at this point I think
