Hey.

So having only REALLY played last year's version (130 hours on Steam), I wondered if some of you numbercruncher guys could answer these questions. You can just read and answer the questions, the notes are purely extra info from where the questions have sprung;

1) Has the skill cap / talent cap changed?
Note: I'm quite happy that we can't just become 85 everything riders, that'd be terrible, but I'd honestly prefer more if we had like a soft shell (like GC rider) where you of course are really good at some specific things (mountains, TT, REC) and then could sort of tailor a rider to our style.

I, for one, would love to make a Thomas Voeckler style of rider who of course aren't a natural climber, but I could train my guy to be better at climbing instead of some of the classic flat things like sprinting or cobbles.

Or just a climber with lots of fighter skill and decent flat. Smile

2) How random is the schedules?
Note: Last year, I played multiple careers with different kinds of riders and even when signing for the same team, the schedule could vary quite a lot. I found that a smaller French or Italian team was better if I started as a 19 year old, due to having more U23 races than Danish teams for examples. Are the schedules more consistent now or how's things looking?

3) The rebirth thing. I never played so far last year to get to the end of my rider's career. When you rebirth, will you be able to make an even better rider, or is the GT-talent still the top so in essence it just means you start over doing the same things?

Regarding the ability progression, it seems like when you pick a specific training regime it actually sticks to it. Although, I feel like they should slow down the progression speed a bit.

I'm just starting my second season with a climber, and I'm at 84 in mountains, 74 in hills and 57 in flat. So it really shapes the riders ability according to what you train it to.

Well, yes.

I've trained my GC rider as baroudeur 2 levels and then puncher 4 levels and his stats is now:

FLA 64
MON 73
HIL 74
TTR 72
PRL 70
COB 58
SPR 60
ACC 63
DH 68
BAR 62
STA 64
RES 65
REC 72

Even though I've never trained as GC rider, his stats in those will always rise. So far, it seems progression is like last year. I just hope they've made the 'caps' smarter or something, so you don't always end up with practically the same rider.

Wooohooo! More questions, for you cycling crazed people. Smile

In my pro cyclist career, teams obviously set deadlines to when they want me to accept a given contract.

Is there a latest date I have to have found a new team - and what if I haven't?

if by july 18 you haven't found a team you have to sign a 1 year minimum salary contract with a team from a list they give you

sometimes in pcm15 this didn't happen and you just spent a year without a team

no they haven't made the stat caps smarter theyre exactly the same as last year
i just think of a rider from the past i want to race as and edit the stat limits to what he would have

July 18th, noted. Thank you.

Do you by any chance have the stat sheet or something similar as to what riders can reach?

I don't remember the numbers and have never used an editor, so I'd just like to see when I should swap my guy's focus again.

The only way is using an editor, even if you have never used one, it takes 1 minute to get around it.

Well. I started playing PCM last year and I've been looking through the PCM15 forum, but I can't seem to find the stat sheet I remember seeing last year.

Some guy did the datamining (I think) or simply did a truckload of trial and error and found that stage riders for example can only get to 66-68 acceleration, stuff like that. Smile

By the way; am I right assuming that steam achievements for PCM is only if I play team career, not pro cyclist?

There are different achievements for career and pro cyclist. View the achievements menu for more information.

I would, but they won't load for me on Steam. Only like the first 8 shows in my library.

Hahaha.

How to have a slight chance in the Vuelta in the 2nd season (only normal difficulty due to me being a newb).

If the RDC has always been this powerful, no wonder it sometimes felt like I was flying back in PCM2015 with my level 26 dude. :-)

I went from Level 10 to Level 12 directly but my rider improved only very little. Is it normal to improve only +1 and rarely +2 when going up 2 level or is this a bug in the game.

Seems like a bug to me. I haven't encountered this (yet), so looks like it's very random.
Inactive due to personal reasons.

In my first year as Puncheur I won 2 stages at TdS from the breakaway, did wear the yellow jersey for 3 days (definding it by 7 seconds on the climb to Cari).
This game is just too easy.

Has anyone worked out how to zoom in/out on your rider? Default is FAR too close for my liking & the heli-camera is too far out. Can't find anything the guide or on the "keyboard shortcuts" menu...

I started as a 19 year old (level 7) and have had several levelups where I got +2 and even +3 in some stats.

The later level ups (15+16) I only got +1 (5 stats in total).

If I remember right from the 2015 version, you can pretty much get 5-15 skillups in a level up and it's largely random. I remember a career where I had gotten 4 level ups, but only a total of 24 skill ups, so I had a REALLY hard time doing anything.

Then this career I'm playing now, I almost got 12+ skill ups per level the four or five first level ups, so he's a beast even though I have ten levels to go. Smile

And yes, I hear it's quite easy from katulen too.

Seeing as I'm a very casual cycle fan, I play on normal until my rider is very good though, then perhaps I'll put it up.

He's on hard and we have pretty similar careers I think.

Edit: I'm lvl 17 in 3rd season now, just finished Tirreno - Adriatico winning one stage, finishing 17th overall. Before that I won the Vuelta ciclista a Mallorca. Next up is Vuelta ciclista a Cataluña before the three grand tours.

My dude is going to be so exhausted later on, but thankfully he doesn't have many races this season apart from those. Smile

Approximate caps for last year. It seems that there are small changes, but I have not checked it properly yet.

Indeed. With Lachi's editor I've looked at Climber vs. Stage Rider and both can reach 80+ REC. The only major difference is climber is up on DHI and ACC while the stage rider is up on TTR and PRL. That aside, they're almost identical. Smile
