Those text/image combos! Takes me back to the PCM 2011 story days!
Will likely regret not going more for Gilbert, great set-up already! |

Haha Irish dude who didn't end up with Dippo So true.
Hope you can have an amazing season. Our new mantra is: we love Strava! Especially since we obviously have a different path ahead of us. |

Strava's industry spionage
We were sneaky but not really greedy, so we can now present four solid riders of equal quality. Strava has been a team of a versatile core. Captains to help each other, helpers to become stars. In this tradition, our deals with Eritel and Ayubowan! have brought him riders to strengthen the depth.
Damien Gaudien | 30 | Pavé | 77 CBS x 77 STA x 74 FL
Jelle Vanendert | 31 | Hills | 78 HL x 77 STA x 75 FI
Anthony Roux | 29 | Hills | 78 HL x 78 STA x 82 FI
Tosh Van der Sande | 26 | Sprints | 79 SP x 79 ACC x 78 STA
Alexis Vuillermoz | 29 | KoM breaks | 75 MT x 74 FI x 73 HL

Some more fantastic signings.
Especially Van Der Sande, who will be a big opponent for Richeze. Looking forward to some battles between these two.
Or, rather, work together and box out the other remaining sprinters and divide the podium spots between themselves? |

Absolutely envy your mere look at possible transfers and throws them together as a strong and iconic unit with a clear theme playing in the background. Wanna swap teams?

Fondly I remember the memories of Great Ocean Road Classic when it was just Richeze and Corioni.

Oh yeah. That was a fantastic start to the ManGame! Great memories.
Forwards and upwards, right!
Hopefully an equally good season in PCT from the both of us |

If it doesn't work out, we can be reunited in CT.

Strava's dum-dum-dum Goal Reveal
With the near-completion of the transfer period, at least for Strava, we can publish our goals to the public. It becomes obvious, duh, why Baugnies was chosen as a prime pick. His high talent for the pavé, quality over hills and long breath make him a candidate to dethrone the reign of Summerhill. What he will need? A strong team to support him. With the likes of Langeveld, Gaudien, Van Wyk, De Backer, Dupont and Tulik we hope we given him just that. Also, PhilBear has stated, that he would not rule out to eat some cobblez this season.
Seeing how the likes of BPost and Aegon struggled previously, Strava will need to come up even better antics than teams who have promoted to PT.
E3 Prijs | Win | 5 | Viana do Castelo | Top 5 | 3 | Tour of Battenkill | Top 5 | 4 | Rheden GP | Top 10 | 3 | Team Standings | Top 15 | 2 |
Can Strava manage to beat the summerhill leviathan?

Couldn't you get a better hill rider instead of buying all of Gilbert,Roux and Vanendert? For example buying one of the 3 then adding someone like Ulissi or Froome?
Lets say Gilbert and Ulissi.I think the 78 HL riders will struggle in PCT division.
Baugnies,Modolo and Van Der Sande are great transfers by the way.

Easy to say isn't it
It's either depth or a leader, the price of Froome and Ulissi is as big as those 3. Shonak has been involved in bidding wars for both of those (I got Ulissi and sgdanny got Froome in the end) and evidently when he realised he couldn't get them he went on to buy 3 good puncheurs instead of 1 great one.

275.000 for Gilbert + 125.000 for Roux + 100.000 for Vanendert = 500.000
Ulissi went for exactly 500.000, Froome for even more
Then of course, you have to add the transfert fees for the last 2, but that's a completely different thing compared to the wage cap.

I think this team will be a mid-table team.No promotion but no relegation either. |

Yeah Matt has explained it really well. It wasn't for lack of trying but I had sub-par renewals (never ever do them when you havn't read your riders' data in months and your gf is next to you and wants to watch a movie!) and so I also operated on slightly lower wage cap than others. Meanwhile, I fulfilled 4 out of 5 goals so my budget was good for deals.
I also wanted initially to get some 80 puncheur maybe through negotiations but the deals didn't work out and then I just wanted to build a strong sub-top puncheur field which would allow me to score some points and operate on quantity.
Probably I could have gone hard on either Froome or Ulissi but Strava did exceptionally well in the way it worked previous year so I thought I wanted to stick to my strategy of having multiple leaders. (At the time ofc, I also had to keep a second eye on Baugnies, we all know the transfer strategies.. )
In the end, they have solid back up stats and have capability of doing strong in most races, plus more race days. We'll see how it works out this season.
