Well, with this news I guess we can make this thread a little earlier than possible.
Sven Nys, now sport-manager of Telenet-Fidea, signed Lars Van Der Haar! Oh yeah, this is going to be awesome
EDIT: Well, it'll only be from January 1st, 2017. So he'll start the season for Giant. |

No for real he started a few days after his career as cyclo-crosser ended (unofficially he had already started while he was still riding, actually) |

And to get in the mood. Mathieu Van Der Poel trying to cross but ending up... in de poel (dutch for the pool/piece of water). Making his name true

Some new UCI rules for CX upcoming season included ears in World Cup and World Champ races.
All International crosses must also organise a women's cross.
U-turns: riders cannot grab the pole ---> will have a big impact!
tree trunks may be an obstacle (and replace jumping bars) |

second, makes little sense to me, forcing races to have an additional catorgories which may not have the interest from the cyclist.
then again more races for the female's I guess
more negative then postive imo

The U-turns rule is stupid, but the CX women scene is pretty well developed. Probably won't hurt. Ticket sales will rise and families will spend 4 hours instead of 2 hours at the events. More beer consum. Everybody wins.

After getting accused of trolling by multiples Belgians for now knowing Van Aert I should probably try to catch a few races whenever the season begins... |

why do you care that some people from some city () call you. it's not like because they think its the holy grail of cycling, nae sports in general doesn't make it true. seriously only those city people () and some dutchies and a random czech care about it.
really seriously though, the racing is often exiting so if you ever find the free time, you should take a look

Lars van der Haar will miss the opening races of the new CX season, Vegas and Iowa.
Suffering from pulled hamstring so let's hope he recovers for a kick-ass season! |

Hard to tell who's in shape in first race of the season, but Van Aert recently won a road race so he'll probably win.
Oh, Froome also wins. |

Hm I've seen a trailer for Sven: The Final Year, a documentary of well, obviously Nys' last year. Anybody seen it yet, worth it? Trailer looks a bit odd.
Van der Poel also wins.

What was the trailer like? The old guy talking about how Nys rode through his orchard?
The docu is surely worth watching.

Yeah it doesn't fully focus on him and also has impressions from fans etc.. Think his sister was also closely followed (or that was some other show i'm not sure).
Most interesting part is the interactions with his coach imo
Best piece of Cycloscross tv will forever remain 'Wellens and Wee'. A reality tv series about Bart Wellens and his family and team which ran 10 years ago. It was truly hilarious. Especially father Lucien and teammate Peter Van Santvliet

Van Aert wins two world cup events, including Jingle with a broken toe We need VDP fit soon for some fairness
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Hm have watched my first race now, my heart still bleeding because CX:AND ended ;(
Van der Poel won Valkenburg, very nice. Going clear ahead of Van Aert and Meeusen, then Van Aert went down and took out Meeusen too. Quality stuff by Mathieu once again, his form is rising after the injury and he is able to match WVA well enough by now.
Apparently also Van der Poel considers switching to the road in 2018.So the dutch will start winning big things in 2019.
