Matthews just really did not have it there.
Strong sprint by Sagan. |

Very good work from Lotto letting the gap fall there.

Great finish in Switzerland. Orica all attack today after Matthews looking unconvincing yesterday. Albasini with a very dangerous late attack relaying up to Hayman in the break. Sagan then getting across alone on the last 1km, 9% climb before the last few kms being very touch and go with a reduced peloton at their heels. Sagan took the 3 up sprint in the end with the peloton just a few seconds back.
Hard not to respect Sagan. I've just had time to enjoy a full re-run of the Tour of Flanders this morning then straight into watching the Tour de Suisse - wonderful attacking riding, daring to win and not fearing to fail, long may it continue. |

Sagan proves again he is the best rider in the world. Hopefully Contador won't strangle him in the opening stages and let him do his things. |

Also want to state on record that (imo) we haven't had a worthy World Champion like this since Hinault in 1980!
Amazing little stunt, once again. Never hesitate. |

Maurits Lammertink on the IC after crashing today. Luckily it's ''just'' broken bones and some wounds, doesn't sound like anything life threatening.

It's the reverse WC curse. Since $agan won the jersey, he can't stop winning races.

What, sure you are belgian? Boonen was an amazing champion. Winning Flanders, E3, 2nd at Roubaix. Plus lots of stage wins, lots of them.

I am a citizen of the world first and foremost
Boonen was a nice champion, indeed. And others were, too.
For me, though, Sagan is a big step above those guys and one we haven't seen since Hinault. Going for it on every terrain, every race, taking risks, doing what he needs to and more.
Boonen was great in what he does. But Sagan throws himself in every single way. Attacking, sprinting, sprinting after spending a day in BOTD, attacking when he can easily wait for the sprint, attacking, attacking, winning... Being the peloton patron at his young age.
And off the bike, as well.
A true World Champion in the best sense of the word! |

While I'm not a fan of Cadel Evans he did the Rainbow Stripes proud in 2010, that Giro stage win alone over the muddied Strade Bianchie and when coming to the line seeing that the stripes were covered in mud he wiped them clean before he raised his arms, that was honouring the jersey. Also finishing the Tour with a broken elbow was another gutsy effort in the jersey. Outside of that he also had a pretty good season winning Flèche, Giro stage and the points jersey, podium in T-A, 4th in L-B-L and other good results.
