Ronde van Belgie is cancelled because of a huge crash with multiple motards and over 20 riders.
Stig Broeckx who is on a comeback from when he got taken out by a motard during Omloop het Nieuwsblad once again involved. Heavily injured.

Just terrible 
Apparently two motorbikes decided it was a good idea to overtake the peloton in the descent of La Redoute. Seriously, what are some people thinking?
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Ffs not again. How much more needs to happen that UCi finally reacts. They need to fix this shit, stricter rules and less motards.

My dutch is bad...but I understood trauma helicopter and skull fracture.
Apparently the motos fell and one of it got thrown into the riders by the fall.
And poor Stig Broeckx, he just came back after a moto hit him at K-B-K...
Edit: Read another dutch/belge article about that incident.
Two motos tried to overtake the peloton and the first one slipped and fell.
The 2nd moto crashed into that first moto and got thrown up in the air and into the peloton.

Horrible news, far too many injuries caused by motorcycles this year. Still, it does not surprise me. I've ridden a lot of races over the past years including mc, and even if they are there for the security I am surprised that not more unfortunate events has happened in those. I remember an mc crash in the starting uphill of a national race some years ago, but no cyclists were hurt. However, it has been some almost crashes. The mc's are always around, even in the middle of the peloton and much more involved than they often look on screen.
In orher news Amund Grøndahl Jansen won today in Gironde after a whopping 180 km solo break. Yesterday Joker got ther three first places. They clearly are in shape these days. NC will be tough. |

Update on Broeckx: neurological trauma, 2 cerebral hemorrhages, orbital fracture and he's in a non-induced coma. It's not good. Lotto not starting tomorrow.
