I agree with this also. I noticed with my vote for the stages when I published and had 2 races in clear lead, I managed to get more people voting for the others and ended up with only 2 votes seperating 5 races, instead of a 5 vote difference before giving running tally of votes. Better to keep everyone in suspense until voting is closed, especially with the quality of work.
Good call about the provisional standings, guys. Had my doubts about it too, but I figured since it's a pilot I'd post them anyway and see what the effects on the outcome would be.
However, my hypothesis is that it won't affect the voting too much, because it's not plain voting, but it's a grading system.

Well, in my case it would probably make more of a difference because it's a grading system. I have already voted and didn't use the full scale since I found all the entries very good. However, if I was to vote again now, I would subconsciously tend to create more disparity in my evaluation. This is because the order I would place the entries in is fairly different from the one in provisional ranking.
This brings us to another matter. I think possibly a better way of voting would be to rank the entries (or grade like now but with only 6 values and without repetition). That way, each vote would have the same weight, although that has some disadvantages too.
The pilot has been a success and we're eager to start with the real competitions from this month on. The results from the pilot look very promising.
A total of 7 jerseys were submitted and all of them have been graded with an average above 5,5. With a difference of only 0,4 points against runner-up Lufthansa (the_hoyle), the winner is T-Mobile by Cavendish-Fan with an average score of 7,8. Congratulations!
