Van Aert is the biggest engine in whole of cycling. Would be immediate contender in the classics and timetrials if he focused on the road.

A quick glance over the CQ ranking homepage made me think for a second that José Rujano had won the 3rd stage of the Tour of Ireland.

Well I've heard about Van der Poel due to the massive hype on this forum, but I exclusively follow road cycling and primary the GT-riders, particularly Spanish and Columbians. I don't know jackshit about cyclocross or track, never really had an opportunity to watch it. Especially not cyclocross.
I'd say I know a lot, especially about what matters to me, but I probably have some giant lapses that Im honestly not too eager to fill just yet. Last year I for example only really got into the classics after previously only watching Flanders and P-R. Cycling was GT's and to a lesser extent one week races para mi |

not joking, it's significantly less popular and less known than things like waterpolo and fencing. i realize this may be a shock to belgians |

I think everyone gets that almost everyone in the world gives no shits about cyclocross, but considering this is a cycling forum and cyclocross in a short season delivers more excitement than most of the whole road cycling season, I think it a fair assumption to know some of he brightest cross talents, who are likely to transition to road at some point.

It's hard to avoid it in winter imho. Whenever one visits cyclingnews or even twitter you can see some cyclocross news among road pieces. I have no interest in any cyclocross stuff, but I recommend you do watch the races. They are infinitely better than most road cycling.

You can catch it on the Youtube channels, I don't watch much of it but have enjoyed what I've seen.
I have cycling buddies that are starting our Cross season down here so will have to roll up and watch some live action this winter
