Here's my idea for a PCM2014 story. Play on extreme mode, create a 1 star custom team with only U23 riders (selected from the Young Riders lists) from the country my team is based (only Spanish riders in a Spanish team).
My main focus and goal is to scout and develop local talents and needless to say we will struggle to win anything at all or earn any promotions. So this will most likely not be a typical rags to riches story, but more a day to day struggle in Continental obscurity, trying to develop some good riders for the bigger teams.
Two questions:
1) would people read a story of a team who's delighted of they manage to finish in the top 20 and won't be a world tour team in a couple of years, and
2) do people still read 2014 stories now that 2015 is out? |

There is a guide, but at the moment I can't remember the location. It was posted again not long ago, though.
Just take a look at some existing stories. But no, there are no rules, just do as you're comfortably with |

Did this story ever come to life - I think it sounds very interesting. The fact that it is run on Extreeme (I dont even know how hard that is) and the fact that even a top 10-20 , would be a fantastic result.

Do riders in the teams we play with ever retire?
I've seen riders retiring anywhere between ages 33 and 45 for other teams, but no rider has retired with me. The most I've kept a rider is age 38, when their stats drop off so much that I end up replacing them.

Ok a bit of panic mode here!!
My story career is in its sixth year and the sponsorship runs out this year. The sponsor is not extending (I was looking to change anyway). The date is 30th June. No other sponsors have offered a contract yet. However, somehow I was able to extend contracts with riders and even sign 2 new riders!
Is there any way to look for sponsors in the game? Or is messing with the DB the only way?

I don't have a long story here but the biggest disappointment for me ever in any PCM game:
Riding with Belkin and Mollema was leading the Tour de France. Then he got ill, doctor recommended withdrawal but I refused. Two more stages but it got worse and then suffered automatic withdrawal. At that point Mollema had dropped to third after losing some three minutes in Bagneres-de-Luchon stage.
Close race on top though, Pinot leading Nibali by three seconds. |
