Why would Rosa going to Sky be such a disaster? What makes Astana any better than Sky?
sky buying all the talent =worse for cycling
Well they aren't buying all the talent and have shown that whatever program they are running doesn't suit a good chunk of the riders they do bring in, look at how fragile the team actually is with riders contracting illnesses fairly often. I do find it hard that people are fans of any rider on the Astana list Nibali,Aru,Lutsenko,Rosa,Tiralongo and Kangert.
Was a fan of Vino as well. Also I am a fan of Taaramae, and he rode at Astana last year. |

Vino? One hell of a bike rider. Attacking spirit, no nonsense. I very much liked Vino as well, his Tour in 2003 was a masterpiece. |

Lying, cheating fraud is the only way I can describe Vino. Shouldn't be allowed anywhere near the sport

It is bad news considering Sky aims to concentrate much of the talent on their roster, not necessarily because Sky are any worse than Astana or anyone else. Could possibly lead to more stale racing, but remember that this year, Intxausti and Konig haven't really ridden at all, Landa abondaned Il Giro and Froome has been under par.
at least they have Stannard, Swift (who should be also at Tour list), Thomas |

Looks like we will have a very interesting transfer period this season with both Tinkoff and IAM folding at seasons end, some quality riders on the market

I say win-win. More rumours and more fun in the summer and, hopefully, less WT-teams next year. |

Love me some rumours!!!
I do wonder if we will have less WT teams next year, 2 possible new projects in Bahrain and Riis and then we have Bora-Argon 18 who have said they want to go WT. I don't know why the PCT teams would want to go WT with needing an increased budget in an environment where sponsorship is getting more difficult, these teams still get invites to the big races with the pressure to perform a little less outside of making sure they are in the breaks and getting the name on TV.

Why? He will have a team built around him and he gets what he wants in $$$
And if it's just because Astana are dodgy well news is the majority of teams are dodgy to the core

At Astana $agan will return to riding in butt ugly national kits, at least at Tinkoff his NC abd WC kit were pretty nice.

If Bora really wants to have a shot on the WT, then I have the feeling that they might do a "light fusion" with IAM, signing many of their riders and might even get sponsored by IAM. Otherwise they would need mores sponsors and new riders (or bring Leopold König back ) to find their place in WT cycling.

Isn't it pretty clear that Sagan will sign for Astana considering his bike deal and fact that Quickstep is too crowded in classics department already? |

Etixx really aren't stacked in the classics department, they have good riders but no standout leader which showed them up this year. Specialized want to keep Sagan as a brand ambassador seeing he is a global name so it's obvious he goes to a Specialized team so I agree with you that Astana look the most obvious choice at this stage.
