Obviously I'm sad that Craddock did poorly. on the other hand Talansky paced for a while and hung to pace Craddock when he dropped and still looked decent. Maybe he can get at least a little form going forward.

Yes. The field is a lot more crap as in other races when it comes to mountain climbing.
Still. Check Bookwalter`s recent performances over the last couple years in especially in US races.
2nd in USAPCC
3rd Utah
But also 4th in the tough Österreich Tour
8th in Andalucia
This guy peaked very late but he is no longer such time trialist/bottle carrier rider only.
Plus those is the racing I love the most. It`s far more fascinating to watch with all those rather unknown riders in the top spots. Next to Criterium International or even San Luis one of the best mountain stages this year imo.

Indeed. I like Craddock a lot and it was nice that the team was going for him after his 2016 palmares.
Unfortunately in the end Talansky was the stronger yesterday and possibly could have come close to the podium. Still Cannondale is kind of different to other teams. The connection between the team mates seems to be very strong as they are more like friends, who know each other for a long time than team mates. |

Absolutely true. it's part of the reason why they're my favorite team, but unfortunately it can also lead to these kind of results.

Surely, Alaphilippe has to be the Tour-favourite this year. |

Sagan is on a roll right now!!! It's becoming too easy! Even the supposed Sagan-Stopper can't stop him anymore! |

Just watched the final 20km of California now.
This was some excellent racing. Loved how Axeon attacked and attacked with all their riders one by one.
Then also Dimension Data tried to make it as difficult as possible. Nathan Haas finally showing some form again. First they said Van Rensburg, but after attacking and going solo with 2 km to go, he still was close to the sprint win in the end. He possibly should have waited for the sprint only.
But Sagan was incredible. BMC with 4 riders controlled it mainly but Sagan did the most important late pulls and won it well deserved.
Many more stages should be like this. Great route. Great rider racing. |

And after checking the result.
Bad luck for Lachlan Morton. Bad technical in the worst moment. Not making it back and losing 10min in the end. |

Hopelessly boring 3 first stages in Norway, hope for more action on the Eggemoen stage tomorrow, one of the best race stages of the season the last years. |
