PCMdaily DB Stat Discussion - PCM15
Tafiolmo
Also Gasparotto last year finished top 10 AGR and top 20 FW and LBL, which is 75-78 hill stat territory and because he's going well this year 77 does seem fair.

Clearly Valgren was at least on Gasparottos level, he closed the gap with ease...

I heard Gasparotto`s results for the AGR were pretty consistent though. So looking at his results for this particular race we come to:
2012: 1st
2013: 9th
2014: 8th
2015: 8th
2016: 1st
So apparently he`s good at this particular race where he always finishes with the main contenders. I believe that says something about this guy; it`s not a fluke.

According to the riders (heard an interview with Weening and Gesink for instance) they were all soaked and had cold/frozen hands due to the hail/rain 20 km before the finish, which had a major impact on their performance (well, perhaps except for Albasini, who was working so hard).
Perhaps Gasparotto could deal with the weather conditions better than the majority of the other contenders and therefore managed to win? I`m not sure how much weather conditions have an impact on performances in-game.

Or maybe it's because older Italian riders are eating the right kind of pasta.

One thing, what do you men by the resistance could be not too high because the matrix stats?

I see guys like Mike Woods who do well on Catalunya and especially Down Under with 74 hills but 69endurance and 68resistance i think, with this stats he probably cant go to a top 5 on down under like he do on the real life and be one of the best on the climbs, only above of Henao and Porte, if anyone could explain better i would be aprreciate.

Another thing, guys like Rafael Reis, Joni Brandão(and more portugueses) and more riders at CT level need to be updated one example of that is the guys of amore vita that are pretty decent on the climb and have bad stats like Celano, Ficara etc.

What are the stats for Baptiste Planckaert. He's been having a very consistent season on the continental level.

Guys like Celano & Ficara are already updated in our list due to the latest results...also the well-performing portuguese CT-guys in Castilla y Leon (slightly Brandao, Reis, Roson from Spain) & L-B-L U23 (Guerreiro)

I think Planckaert is faster than that to be honest. Also in favour of a Brandao update.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

It's not that complicated, resistance has a lower matrix because of its effects. Compared to another backup Stat like endurance, the differences at a higher level (talking about 78+) are much bigger in game, so Cyanide decided to lower the matrix of that one, and we did the same because we assume Cyanide know what they're doing. So it won't be max 83 or 84 like in most of the stats, but its max is around 77. Contrary to what you would think, 68 is not at all a low value for res, it's basically better than more than 50% of the world tours resistance stats.

Woods, with his stats and a field like that of TDU, could do just as well as he did irl. Remember he also has a decent acc which is even more important than stamina and res up down unders climb. In fact, stamina comes into play after the 190th km, and its effects are only realistically seen after the 220th. Down Under mostly is made up of shorter stages than those of a GT or a classic and so is Catalunya so he doesn't really need anything higher than 69.

Please! Which field in the DB is that pasta-stat? Wink

matt i understood but so some guys of the ProCT and some CT need bo te downgraded, i dont know the stats but i think that guys like Janier Acevedo and some others are too high for the results they have.

4 days ago we went through all the resistance stats (well, it was from the top to 65 which is a whole lot still) , so a lot of changes were made, so I don't think you'd have to worry about that.

Each month we pick a stat and go through basically all the high-ish ones. So far, we have done this with the fighter and the resistance stats. The next one will likely be stamina, however I must say that the main stats such as mountian, sprint, time trial, hills and cobbles, are checked from the top to like 70 each time something important happens. What we are doing is mostly needed for stats that can go under the radar like the secondary stats.

Not playing with the v16 DB yet, but I noticed in the v15 DB that in 2018 Sagan ended up ranking 13 in the Vuelta (winning overall points & mountain) and also ranked 11th in the Tour.
Besides that, he also won the Eneco Tour, the Tour of Norway and ranked 10th in the Tour of Suisse.

This kind of seems the AI uses him as a GT overall rider, which is a little weird, considering his MO 74 and HI 76. And even with those stats he shouldn`t be near the top 10 rankings. He even consistently finishes higher than Kruijswijk, who was the leader of BMC at that moment and had MO 77, HI 75. And Sagan is in a team with Quintana, so I`d guessed he`d have to work for him instead. Is this all due to his high RES/END/REC that he ended up this high in the rankings?

Well Sagan is the curse of us statmekers along with riders like Thomas, Kwiat and Dumoulin etc in that they have consistently high stats in general and to decrease any of these stats too much is to lose the character of the rider, so it's a hard solution to find.

I've also had Sagan finish 11th in the Tour and ride consistently in every stage race he enters. Again I've lowered his mtn stat to try to stop him finishing highly in stage races. But yes in general his RES and REC is also what makes him so good, so with a lesser mtn stat I'm hoping this will be the fix for him.

High general stats often give a rider that shouldn't be a GT leader that role. I've often noticed this problem with BMC in that Gilbert often gets race leadership over TVG which is wrong for a GT. I'm hoping now for the stats that Gilbert doesn't ride that well at Ardennes, which will give an excuse to lower his stats which will enable TVG to be GT leader for BMC.

I had Sagan at 6th or 7th overall in the Tour on v15DB (or an earlier Daily db) one time. Many of the favorites like Froome had an accident in the first week though and was too far behind in the GC. but it seems allot better with v16 and have not yet experienced any strange GC results in any of the GT so far.

Alaphilippe 81 hill.

Down in hill: Rodríguez, Kwiatkowski, Gilbert, Moreno, Gerrans

Very easy for Valverde, I think Valverde deserves 83 in Hills ! ! !

Diego Rosa too, sure he did well with the fifth place in Lombardia and Strade Bianche but 78 is too OP, besides those two he haven't done much too deserve his stat and he's always been more of a climber than a hill specialist too me. But true Rodriguez was a big disappointment.
