GVA is on the market for probably half of what $agan demands and would suit Etixx more than $agan with Kittel and Gaviria already there.
Although id imagine BMC will be desperate to keep him since Phil is leaving.
I was thinking GVA and Etixx would be a good match and would be cheaper than Sagan, BMC might want to keep him but in reality they are a more of a stage racing focused team so if GVA gets a good offer I doubt they will dig to deep to match it.
Correct.
Though my dream is Van Avermaet at Lotto. It probably won't happen but I'd love to see it |

I don't see van Avermaet going to Etixx or Lotto.
Etixx has already too much cobblers and someone would have to leave before they can sign a new rider. Also and this is an assumption, I think GVA doesn't really like Etixx. That's the feeling I get atleast.
Lotto has Benoot, Roelandts, Greipel, Sieberg etc. for cobbles they don't need GVA. |

None of them are outright team leaders which really showed this cobbled season, they are good quality and all capable of winning big races but are better when they have a leader to play off, why would any of them need to leave?
As for Lotto well only one of those you mentioned is a possible leader in any of the big classics and that's Benoot, the others are bit players when it comes to the classics.
Mind you I don't actually think he will go to those teams but nobody has to leave for him to slot in

Stybar was a bit bad this year but can win Rvv or P-R ofcourse. Boonen showed he can also still win P-R. And Terpstra is always top 5 in RVV and P-R normally. I thin you underestimate them based on this year only.
I agree with you in that they are not finishers, but van Avermaet is also not the best finisher ever. This year he was doing well ofcourse, but he wasn't called forever 2nd without a reason. |

Eixx has some east-european sponsors. If they can get Sagan, they'll add budget.
It's not just that, if Specialized want to keep Sagan on there bikes next season which Mike Sinyard has already said they do then they might stump up some $$$ to cover some of Sagan's possible wage bill

I'm not going just from this season with what I am saying, when Terpstra won his Roubaix the team leader was Boonen, was Stybar outright leader when he finished 2nd in Roubaix? I am not saying they don't deserve a free role and can win all those races but I just think they are better when teams are marking a leader which they would do with GVA and riders like Terpstra and Stybar can attack with a free role. As for Boonen well he was great in Roubaix but he isn't the rider he was and if he does pull out another result like that next season it wont be as outright leader

What makes by far the most sence for everyone involved imo:
Van Avermaet -> IAM
Gilbert -> Lotto
Sagan -> BMC

Really? Avermaet to IAM and Gilbert to Lotto? I think that's very unlikely. |

Anyone could go anywhere
Wouldn't be surprised to see someone like GVA going to Dimension Data. They've obviously got a bit of cash to spend. |

I vote for Froome to Adria Mobil, Boonen to Lotto Soudal Ladies and Sagan to TEAM SAGAN, THE ONE AND ONLY. |

Stranger things have happened.

TEAM SAGAN is already operating some time under names of Cannondale and Tinkoff, judging absence of teammates in majority of races he rides bar Tour.

I dont agree, if he is worth that much, which I think he is, then why not collect the pay check? You never know what will happen in the future.
When that's said, I hope he opts for Trek or something similar. Exixx would be dominating too much
Segafredo insist on having an Italian in the team (Nibali) and considering that Sep Vanmarcke is a cheaper option I think the team will try everything to presuade Nibali to join and for the classics to take Vanmarcke. Sagan and Cancellara are two way different riders - if he joins Trek (hopefully not) Sagan will have big shoes to fit in. And what benefits other than marketing will have there?
?
Again, $agan rode for Liquigas, he is very, very popular in Italy. Arguably the most popular rider after Nibali. It makes perfect sense for Segafredo to get $agan. Especially since Nibali is leaning heavily towards Bahrain Project.

Sagan will have more team protection at Etixx because it seems non-existant at Tinkoff. |

I remember when people said $agan would have more protection at Tinkoff than he had at Cannondale when he was leaving |

Sagan cannot figure out how to use his teammates and prefer to drive alone. |

Would GVA at Etixx solve their actual problem tho? Maybe it just increase it because they already have solid leaders. But right now, they lots of responsibilites at the classics, but their leaders arn't strong enough to hold up with Vanmarcke, $agan.. Sure GVA was flying high this season but I don't know if and actually for how many years he can challenge $agan. Greg isn't the youngest anymore.

Why? Gilbert is clearly fed up at BMC. Only reason he is still there is $$$$. He had best years of his career at Lotto so would make sense to go back there. And Sergeant has already said he would welcome him back if they could work something out.
And GVA to IAM also makes much sense. He'd have good team to support him and his brother in law is boss of the team.

He might not be at the top for much longer but he's a safe bet and gives the team another year or 2 to develop the next big star

Yeah I'm pretty sure as well that Gilbert is done with and leaving BMC, he's hasn't got to much time left with all the younger talented riders coming up so moving back to Lotto isn't the worst place for him to finish up his career and he won't command such a big contract next time around
