Just realized that Hakse - ING was in the Vuelta. That must've been the worst show of a team in a GT ever. Only 4 points more than the control team.
I'll make a post with the full Vuelta rankings tonight. |

Yeah, I have no idea why they were there. Strange decision by their manager to send such a weak team to a GT and waste race days. In fairness, though, the control team was pretty beast. If it weren't for Medina crashing and getting injured (like everyone else, even the control team weren't spared), I reckon a top 125 was on, not gonna lie.
Time to finish the season now.

Their manager quit after race selection so I had to help out with season planning. I noticed that his selected races (especially wildcards) did not fit with the strengths of the squad so I went with the planning that I deemed the most efficient and not with the most prestigious. I did not want to waste his leader's race days at the Vuelta for two top ten stage results and send them to races where they have more upside.

Now that was a GT! 15 teams with a win, few won't be happy with that Vuelta. With the KOM jersey going to D2B to boot thanks to the breaks. Breakaways galore.
Rodriguez wins the GC, then! The pinnacle! Wonder if Shonak will keep him? Taking nothing away from Brewers' GC challenge, so close but a solid second.
On the podium, a stage win and a stint in the race lead. Hot! Our record in Grand Tours is amazing: a stage win in all 9 and on the podium in each this season. VDB just might have clinched the title there: 1 potion of youth coming up! |

Makes sense then. So frustrating that managers give up before all the fun instead of putting in at most a few days work. And then their teams that they didn't even pick deny active managers points.
I guess now is the right time to say thank you to you for doing the planning then.

Talking of inactive managers, I suppose there are quite some jumping off, again after this seaso. I just hope we get enough fresh faces - maybe from the mg, to continue well enough.

Thanks. Though doing planning for four teams (Hakse, Achieve, Festina and Festina DT this season) is a lot less effort than racing hundreds of stages. Thanks for that (also @ other reporters )
And if it wasn't for the sad reason of inactive members (SotD just had few time iirc ) I'd actually enjoy planning a lot. It also made me a lot more interested in the CT following the season of Festina (and Achieve)

So you are the guy responsible for the domination of Boasson Hagen?

There's two Schorns and no McLay. I know he won't get through the first round anyway but I still find this cloning program unfair on us.

Spilak did rescue his Vuelta somewhat by being present in breaks - still a disappointing race all told.
Not that optimistic about the sprint challenge but it is a fun concept of course

Well spoted brewers, thanks about that. Not sure if I'd have noticed that in time. Groups were now updated to fix that mistake and also to not have two riders in the same first round race.
First round results are also posted now: https://pcmdaily.com/forum/viewthread....st_1157908
We've got our first DNF in this race ever. |

Does PCM AI have the teammate blocking team leader's rival implemented? Otherwise let's put this on hold until it does.

11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Shouldn't Boivin be racing in group H? Haedo has been in both G and H.

Additionally, first two stages of Virginia Chrono Tour. Rest to follow likely tomorrow along with Canadian Classics.
