Thanks, I have attached the new db to the first post so you can take a look at it even without the full package.

Even though GW is not a top heavy cobble race irl, the game though treats it as a cobble classic so for a rider to do well he needs a good cobble stat.
No. I played GW yesterday in my be a pro career and the race was won by AI controlled Cavendish, so you can definetely do something in this race without good cobble stat. I usually have some average cobblers making it into the first part of the split in E3 and GW. If they have good flat and secondary skills, like Cav, they can even win it. |

How about Benoot, Stuyven and vervaeke, they're kind of underrated :/ |

I don't see why they're underrated. Benoot with 75HI and 77COB should perform well, Vervaeke has 73 MO and Stuyven has 77FL, 76COB. I don't see how they should be higher than that.

I agree.
Maybe Stuyven 77 COB and Benoot 78 COB could be fine, too. Though I'm not too familiar with the Exp Pack stats matrix |

There's no real point in having this discussion about Benoot and Stuyven now, assuming we won't get a stat update until after Roubaix. Vervaeke is good at 73.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Giving out improved cobble stats at the top of the matrix seemed like a bad idea with the two biggest races still to be contested. So I kind of avoided giving out bigger cobble stats just yet for riders like Benoot etc until they've raced Flanders and Roubaix, even though Benoot is probably worth 78. There are a hell of a lot of riders on 77 and 76 cobble at the moment that could easily go up or down and the next few weeks will reveal all hopefully.
@Anderis Maybe what I should have said, is that the game AI treats GW as a cobble race when it lists the pre-race favourites like Cancellara and Vanmarcke etc IRL though those type of riders are less favoured on the course unless it's very windy like it has been over the last couple of editions. Normally it's a sprint between cobbled sprinters like Sagan, Kristoff and Degenkolb and riders like so.
I'm sure though that if Cavendish managed to stay in the lead group he could manage to win the race. Also I think it depends on which GW you're playing as well. I normally play the one by Ricardo quite old now but I find it the best version of the race to play, even though an update of the race would be nice, not sure if the PCM version of the race includes the newer second climb up the Kemmelberg or not.

The problem could indeed be about the gw version you are playing. All the variants included in the 2016 db or in the game are made or re built with the pcm 15 stage editor, which makes sure the AI treats it as a cobbled classic, when however other dbs have included older variants that could not happen sometimes, making the sprinters captains of their teams.

Gent-Wevelgem is too much of a cobblers race in PCM in my opinion. We had some bad editions the last few years, but if you have a sunny spring day and not much wind, you'll see a sprint between Cavendish, Greipel and maybe even Kittel in Wevelgem.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

If Cipollini can win a race multiple times, you know it's a sprinters race It's not like Gent-Wevelgem is called The Sprinters Classic and has been won by people like Abdujaparov, Cipollini, Freire and other well known sprinters/non-cobbles riders.

A big thank ou from me for the stat update, it lokks great as always
But one thing:
Why did you take out Demoitie?
Unfortunately very startlist with him in is now unusable. The same goes for normally retired riders or doped riders during the saeson like Evans or Mondory last year.
Could you upload a separate singeplayer db that contains every rider that raced in 2016?
That would be great. |

There you go, it's more realistic to take riders out of the db when they are not going to race anymore the rest of the season, sadly this is one of the problems when we do.

Well not really, that's the stat update with demoitie. The stat update is in the complete 1.1 and the cdb file has been attached to the first post.

This is an unfortunate error because of the excel system that we use for the stats. Anybody with access to the stats (there are 4 of us) could've altered this by complete accident (like scrolling over by accident when doing another rider) As far as I'm concerned nobody would've touched Vuillermoz knowingly and his hill, as he's been 79 hill for quite some time now.
A bugfix will obviously fix this and Matt is aware of it, but in the meantime you could manually adjust him to 79 hills if you don't want to wait.
