Nice win by Pinot, but apparently Daan Myngheer (22 y.o. - Roubaix Lille Métropole) had a heart attack in the first stage and is now in a coma. I really don't want to update my signature anymore.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

According to Prudhomme it's looking good for the circumstances, so luckily it seems like a sig update isn't necessary (well not that part, the top part could use a change )

Joseph Areruya has won Circuit International de Constantine (1.2) in Algeria. NASR-DUBAI must be really pissed. |

The impressive thing was Latour, but super important for Tipopino to stamp his authority and gain confidence. |

Another great performance by young Latour - this guy has quickly won my heart with his attacking riding and Mancebo-esque climbing style. Probably the guy I will cheer for the most in the coming years if he confirms his immense potential.
He attacked with 7-8k to go and then Peraud came to his wheel. Later on, Peraud fell back and Latour just kept going, whilst Geniez drilled the chase and Latour never got more than a few seconds lead. For a moment it looked like Latour got away when the chase was unorganized after Geniez dropped but the return of Pinot's Lieutnant and the ensuing attacks brought them closer again. Pinot caught Latour fairly easily but Latour still came 2nd 7 secs behind and got a good 2nd place in the GC.
Pierre LaTOUR is the Future. Excuze the pun.
P.S.: Dutchies should look out for Oomen, just 20 years old.

Great stage in Crit. International today.
Love those 2nd tier mountain stages without the big stars except Pinot here of course as best rider.
Where else do you get a HC rated race with riders like Oomen, Latour, Nerz, Craddock being some of the best. |

I do wonder when they move the race away from Corsica if we will see a change of dates in an attempt to get some big names back, I love the race and like the riders contesting it but you'd think the race would want some bigger names

problem is that Catalunya is WT now so all top teams have to be there and send strong squads there because they need wt points.
If Catalunya wasn't WT there would be a much more even spread of top riders and teams over Coppi e Bartali, Catalunya and Crit International.

Fränk Schleck when he still mattered won this race. Isn't that huge enough for you?
Also guys like Evans, Porte and Froome rode it since it moved. That's a pretty great lineup. It works bc Corsica is lovely to ride, especially when rest of europe can still be cold. I spent two holidays there in teenage years (in the north tho), it was great to climb there.
I guess as long as FDJ and AG2R bring their climbers to it organizers are happy. I know I am. Like roturn said, always great to see some lower tier climbing action.

It moved to Corsica in 2010 at that same time ASO announced that the 100th TDF would start in Corsica which explains the good fields in 2012/2013 then the field dropped away in the last 3 years. I personally like the race so don't want to see a change and if they keep getting French TDF podium finishers winning it then I guess they will be happy enough but I wouldn't be surprised to see it moved from Corsica

Bernal, the dude who only turned 19 this year, placed 10 on the stage today. Not too shabby. Landa confirmed his first performance and ended 11 - please win a stage in Itzulia again.
Moscon is also a huge prospect. He ended 3rd overall in the same race as Sky's best rider. |

Yeah, Latour is for real. I remember I saw him the first time when Contador couldn't shake Quintana on Port de Balés in RdS. That same thing will happen in the next week in Itzulia, can't wait.
He may even have been able to follow Pinot and win the stage had he played it conservatively, but it just goes to show how strong he was. I for one DONT like his riding style, but he is aggressive so I can't complain too much. Its another thing if he rode like Mochema. |

I have followed him since that stage at Route du Sud too, only fitting I find my future fav climber in a low rated race against my no. 1

Seems he is scheduled for the Vuelta. Woulda liked Ag2r to throw him for the wolfs in July instead when he outclimbs Vuillermoz and Peraud this easily and throw Bardet and Pozzovivo in there as well and attack overtime the gradient is above 5%, but oh well... |
