eeh, I didn't think they would care about the marathon of Boston too and they did paris twice. I wouldn't go to say there is no risk at all. probably a little and it's unlikely but saying there is no risk seems foolish to me

Ofc there is always a risk, you can be also hammered by bus on the way to the race. I would say there is similar chance for that to happen. Point was already said and that is that you cant change you lives because of terrorists, that is their aim in the end...

I salute you Belgium, I am glad the races are going ahead but life comes before a race, at the end of the day its just a race, it can be raced another time. The most important thing is protecting the country. I do hope they stick with the decision to go ahead but I would like to see it postponed maybe to another date. Like I said it's just a race.
I understand the defiance part of it but why give anymore terrorists out there the gateway and perfect opportunity to do it again unless you can somehow control it. I dunno by banning luggage and bags around the most crowded parts of the routes.

Dwars Door Vlaanderen is still looking to go, although many riders will face problems getting there with the main airport closed.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Giant - Alpecin not in DDV due to travel problems. This also means, Chad Haga needs to wait with his comeback after the Mallorca incident.
Having a quick look on the PCS startlist, apparently Movistar struggled the most with Amador, Lobato, Sütterlin and Ventoso being the only riders. Unfortunately we won`t see Betancur. Ag2r and CCC also with 6 riders only. |

The problem is if you start cancelling races for terrorism where does it end? The chances of another quick strike by the terrorists is still a possibility as they're probably still in place, but more than likely they'll wait some time before striking again, as these terror acts take time to prepare and execute.
The problem is that cycling is an extremely hard sport to supervise as anybody can get onto the route if they really want to regardless of how many police there are, which makes cycling as far as sport goes a potential nightmare for security.
Terrorists want the biggest exposure and loss of life that they can get and nothing in cycling comes bigger than the Tour but of course there are more higher profile sports than cycling to pick on, especially with Euro 2016 coming up.
I think France seriously needs to step up its security preparations for these two events (but I already imagine they already have)

Heavy rain in Dwars apparently and Gougeard in the break (makes me wish I'd spent the extra transfer to stick him in...) means it could be selective. |

Gerald Ciolek has aimed this race the most this year. And now he does not start due to illness. Great. Wasn`t expecting a lot for obvious reason but was actually quite interested in his performance today. |

GvA, Benoot, Senechel and one more on the attack from the Peloton on Paterberg, where is Terpstra? He should be in on that attack. |
