On the other hand, its good to be reminded that after all, he is still a rook. Would be too much had he won MSR in his first season
No it'd been perfect, especially because I bet on him. Ah well, he'll win enough stages to come and hopefully MSR one. I'm already getting ready to print some shirts next time around #GaviriaMSR2017
Who are you guys if i am fanboy? Fangirls?
Reasonable sympathizers of greatest sprinter talent ever?
Me and Shonak are reasonable, fair-minded fans that wishes the best for everyone (apart from Mocha and Ten Dam) and likes to watch some ol good racing. Objective observers, if you will.
Hey, I do like Ten Dam, it's just that he's sometimes a bit gross on the bike.
Shh, you don't for the sake of my argument. |

I remember you listening every Lotto rider except for Jürgen Roelandts if that's what you're asking.
Yep Trek even listed Lotto riders who weren't even racing MSR over Roelandts

Anyway, preety pleased for FDJ, 20 years in the sport, never had the budgets to compete with the best, had to endure a shitton of shit press and results that would made most sponsors leave, good to see them 'rewarded'. Now just Pinot to win the Tour!

Pinot seriously has a chance of top-3 in the Tour this year. I can see him top Aru and then he just needs some bad shape/crashes for either of Quintana, Froome or Contador. I have this weird feeling that he is an even better rider this year and will have an even better season. |

I have that same feeling about Pinot this season, he just looks like he's taken that next step and riding with real confidence. Also with Demare now taking this just has to add to the morale at FDJ which will also be a bonus to Pinot

Annoyed that Matthews, Cancellara and Sagan was sidelined due of mistakes of others. Cancellara attack very strong and Sagan finally running really tactical by to Cancellara wheel and leave others to attack and run attacks back in and was in the best position to sprint.
Demare was long back to sprint and won only because Sagan was slowed by Gaviria.

Correction: He will get on another bike, then drive around his bad bike, while hitting it with his shoulders.

Did anyone notice that Dayer Quintana finished in the front group? I know the race wasn't that hard and all, but thats still impressive by a rider like him. |

Awesome race, I don't think Gavira would have won it but so sorry for him. Good to see Demare winning, hopefully it isn't just a one-off and he can shake PCM.daily's overrated rider tag
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Some interesting, not immediately obvious stories amongst all the drama, including Bonnet's part in helping teammate Demare today after his recent return to racing after breaking his neck in the TdF last year:

Very ineteresting lats 10 klicks - I was surprised we didn't see something big from Cancellara but sometimes there just is not the chance.
Tough luck for quite a few guys with the crashes really. But that is classics as well.
I was rooting for Cancellara too. He had a dab at bottom of the Poggio, but it looked like he couldn't shake off Gaviria(?) and curtailed his attack. And then all chance of a decent chance gone when Gaviria crashed.
Good finish - Kwiatkowski, Gallopin, EBH, the Southeas-Venezuala dude, the crash. There was always something going on. |

Demare finaly winning his big classic. Well done to him. Nice try by Roelandts though. Karma's a bitch, eh Nacer?
The crash was unlucky, but Gaviria really impressed me by still being there, this guy has a great future ahead of him. Winning Paris-Roubaix was his dream, I believe? I think he just made his claim he can handle the distance, now for the cobbles
To be fair, the way Poggio was ridden, Cipollini could have been there too. Probably the laziest Poggio ever.
It's reall funny as I thought they went slow up the Poggio as well but looking at the times they actually flying. The pace was high over the Cipressa but they were really motoring on the Poggio https://www.climbing-records.com Now if we exclude the stupidly fast full retard EPO 90's times then they were flying on both those climbs which is why nobody could make an attack stick.

You don't know that do you? Even without the crash Demare was there and would of contested the sprint, it's not like he didn't go fast and we don't really know how fast Gaviria would of been at the end of that race, would Sagan have outsprinted Demare? That's not certain either. So saying he only won thanks to the crash is rubbish, also remember that Demare crashed when Matthews went down and had to chase back on when the Peloton were going quite fast over the Cipressa and Poggio yet he still had a strong kick at the end, he won because he was there at the finish he didn't win just because others crashed..
