MSR is Phil's favourite race (more even than Liege or Amstel) so he'll always target it. And saying he never did anything noteworthy is not correct. He was first over the Poggio multiple times.

First over the Poggio?! F*ck me that's class. What a legend, turly a remarkable achievment on par with the Great Moments of the sport. Why win the race when you can crest the final climb at the front Shock

TBF he has podiumed it twice before and it is the kind of finish that used to really suit him. But he's past it now and other riders are too good for him to compete any more. He should focus on the hillier Ardennes races to be succesful.

Maybe Gilbert should start skipping MSR from here on out. Sure he always likes to talk about winning MSR, he rarely does anything noteworthy at the Poggio though.

Yeah, I said "rarely anything noteworthy" - being first on top isn't enough in this race if you want to win it on the Poggio imo, which is the place he needs to make his move obv.

I do get Phil's sentiment if it's his favourite race though, I'd never skip Strade Bianche either if I was a pro.

The gap on the neutralisation
The lead of Gougeard, Herrada, De Gendt, Lutsenko and Didier was 3:30 when the race was halted. They will retain this same lead if the race resumes at kilometre 125.

??
No chance for Peleton to chase.

All points gained at the KOM/Sprints will still count towards those classifications even tho the stage has been cancelled

Well alright then, no heroes - at least Boonen can make it himself cozy in front of chimney now and have some warm chocolate with cream on top.

Yeah. He should've retired before the age of 70.
Guy sounds older than Rebellin Pfft

Anyway, too bad about the weather, though, De Gendt was apparently very impressive and he's always dangerous for a Paris - Nice stage.

Well I can understand him actually, this is probably his last season, so it would be extremely annoying to miss the classics due to a cold he gets in a prep race (with all due respect for Paris-Nice, for the classic guys it's just a prep race). The last 3 season have been hell for him, so yeah, I understand he wants a perfect preparation.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Forever the Best
Lol.They are not tough. The last 10 kms or so could still have been ridden.
