I want to be honest with all of you, so I'll just post a quick update of what's happening right now:
- During the last 2 days we have tried about 5 times to rebuild the installer with different softwares and this has been done by more components of the DB team. None of said attempts has succeeded, either because of repeated crashes by the installer softwares or because of exactly the same error as the one that has occurred on the release day.
- This means that we are not going to try any harder with installers because as you imagine, working months on something and then getting screwed up by what would seem to be the easiest step of all, is very, very demotivating for all of us.
- All of this automatically entails that we are going to be forced to avail ourselves of rar or 7zip files to share the 2016 DB with you. We are really really sorry for the inconvenience and we are the first of all to hope this is going to get fixed very, very soon. Hopefully, since a lot of people are openly endorsing these over exe installers, this won't cause too much trouble - except the wait, that is...

I support that idea. I suggest that if you have people from different nationalities on the DB they could write the instructions on different languages. So users that doesn't have a good grasp of english could maybe understand it better.
Just take your time guys. I'm sure it will worth it. |

For now, that is just too much work. I'll post the download links for the files later tonight, including an instruction manual in English.
Hopefully we'll be able to sort out what the problem was with the installers, so we will be able to release an installer later on. No promises though, as we seriously have no clue about what causes the problems.

Hopefully the community will help users who encounter problems. All my respect for your work. I´m a player since the very beginning with CM1 and have good knowledge of the game structure and editing stuff...so I know what you´re doing is very impressive. Thanks a lot for all the time you spent on this database.

I agree Haasje33, the instructions you provided to placing the files are good. The largest remaining problem is to translate them into the languages needed by the user community. Google offers a free browser add-on (works with Firefox and Chrome) that will translate full pages or selected text to another language. That tool will enable any person downloading the database get the instructions in their language (there are many available). We'd all rather give them a link to their language, but a link to the translator tool will take the burden off the overworked development team. Here is a link to the tool:

We might have figured out the problem with the installer, but we're uploading a ZIP file in the meantime, containing all of the files, which you'll need to install manually. When it's done uploading, it will reappear in the Download Center.
We didn't want to keep you waiting any longer though, so in the meantime you can download the files from this folder on OneDrive. This doesn't include the Variant DLC (yet).

I have 1 question: trafiolmo posted a new version of the .cdb database file in the stats discussion thread. I think it was version 1.2 but the .cdb file from your One Drive mentions version 1.0 . So i am a little bit confuesed
Do I have to put the .cdb v1.2 from trafiolmo in my documents folder?

Yes the db we posted there is a tad outdated already, compared to the one you'll download from onedrive. Onedrive's has got Valverde down to 80 mo as we mentioned for example. It didn't say v1.2 btw, it's because of pcm.daily attachments and the fact that I uploaded the same filename three times.

Well, OneDrive doesn't allow me to download more than 4GB. That makes a little bit confusing but at least you can download it
