Refreshing this a little with some posts out of a Bora career of mine. In 2016 Nerz had his great year captaining the team together with Zakarin. With some good but not outstanding stats he managed to win both Giro and Vuelta surprisingly, though with some luck (in the Giro Aru leading by over 5 minutes crashed out)
The real masterpiece was beating Nibali and many others in one of the hardest Vueltas I´ve ever seen, looking at the numbers of riders left in the teams...
In other terms, Jan Barta (sadly not in my team anymore) took the most surprising TT World Championships I´ve ever seen in PCM (simulating is always bad )

I recently read something about a file or tool to make sure you have less good climbers with (much) lower HI stats, less good youngsters from exotic countries, etc.
I can't find the right thread anymore though. Someone can help me? |

Unfortunately I don't have any time to play the game whatsoever.
So I decided to do a little side project. When I'm not working on my laptop, I sometimes put my laptop next to me and just quick-sim through the game. So try to build a career but quick-simming races (though at one point I'll want to race the big races..)
So the plan was to take over Europcar (PCM 15 database) and save it from disaster.
Season hasn't gone that well so far. I'm in the Dauphiné now:
- Voeckler isn't performing as well as I wanted him to. No noteworthy results.
- Rolland has been ill thrice so didn't participate in Paris - Nice and abandoned Dauphiné. 3rd spot in Crit Int. is his only good result so far.
- Coquard is doing his best, but no victory so far. A 3rd spot in the Dauphiné sprint stage was good.
- No victory for the team so far. 23th in CQ ranking and 11th in CT ranking.
I made a mistake planning. All the best riders I put at the best races (WT and races like Tour of Belgium) so the strong start list didn't allow them to race for the win. I should've let Coquard race some smaller races, give him a taste of victory. Instead he's always racing Cavendish and others so he's not in the position to contest for the win often.
The Tour de France will have to save my season. Rolland, Voeckler, Coquard, any way possible...
My budget isn't too good, too, so I'll have to let some riders go and sign some young riders in the hope that they'll develop into great talents! |

Posted on wrong thread originally.
I signed new sponsor after second season. I was French continental team and now my sponsor is from USA (Big Boy). Yet my new sponsor objectives are mostly based in France. I was assuming that my sponsor would like to concentrate on american based races but no. Tour of California, Utah Tour etc no interest at all. Slight interest on USA national championship though. Is this because I still have quite a lot of French riders? Can I expect a change during the next few seasons? |

It could be related to some bad thought dyn_sponsor_region entries. Open your savegame with pcm fast editor, go in that table, find your sponsors and see which regions have the priority for them. You can edit it to your liking then. I'm not sure if it will work though, depending on the numbers that are currently there.

How long long has your longest career been? I'm in 2026 now. |

So I used editor and it seemed that everything looked pretty normal regions etc. However I noticed that even though sponsor page showed that my team was American, I had flag of France next to my team name in race menu for example. Didn't care that much because I had only one year contract with them. Signed new American sponsor (Polaroid) and hoped that problem would be solved but it doesn't seem so. Beginning of the next season my objectives and generated race schedule is built around French races once again. It seems that game is not able to realize that I'm not French team anymore. Can I use editor or something to fix that?

Yes, go in dyn_team and there should be 3 calendar related columns. If you are using fast editor as you say, change the entries in there. The first one is the priority area where your team will race, the second tje secondary and so on

So I haven't played the game for months and started a new career with Lampre now. I'm playing on normal at the moment just to get accustomed again, which is a good thing I guess, since my results aren't that spectacular ^^
Arashiro and Cimolai finished 4th and 5th Down Under, which was a nice start. Had a few wins in CT races in February, most important one was Strade Bianche, which was also a sponsor goal. Unfortunately, Rui Costa crashed and missed his first big goal, Tirreno-Adriatico. Meintjes did relatively well as his replacement, finishing 7th and scoring a stage win along the way, but Top 5 was the sponsor goal, so a bit of a disappointment.
Niemiec won the mountain jersey at P-N, and Cimolai scored a great 3rd place at MSR. Nothing of note in Catalunya or the cobbles, of course. Ulissi started his campaign with two stage wins and a 4th overall in the Basque Country, which was really nice.
Ulissi was also my man for the Ardennes, since I wanted Costa to fully focus on the Giro (maybe not the best idea in hindsight, but I thought the Giro had to be top priority for the only Italian WT team, and it's the only way to achieve the Top 5 sponsor goal). Unfortunately, Ulissi crashed at the AGR, and wasn't feeling well during FW either. Arashiro took his place and did well, 12th at AGR and a good 7th at FW. Ulissi came back for a 9th at LBL. All in all not too great, but given my general sucking at hilly classics, it's alright ^^
Giro is next now, Costa finished 6th at the Romandie due to an abysmal TTT and a really tough field (JRod, Porte, Nibali, Froome, TvG etc). Hope they're not all at the Giro as well.
But in general really fun, and really nice to play the game regularly again after such a long time. I hope I can sign a better stage racer for next season, Niemiec is going for the mountain jerseys at both Tour and Vuelta, but he's already heavily declining, so that's going to be tough...

Is there a way to have the team's cap at the podium instead of the standard white/gray one? |

Are we suppose to guess what kind of training a rider is going to do when we cant see the potensial he has? |

I suppose so, that's what i do..
I'm in year five and some riders i have from the beginning still dont show what kind of training they prefer. So i just guessed, if its wrong you'll get a news message, not a big deal, the riders stats got better anyway. |

I was thinking about if they where to train cobbels, sprint, hilly etc when you cant see the potential the rider has? |

I have a doubt. It's not posible anymore to do a fast simulation? I mean, in other PCM you can put the fast simulation and pass a season without having to simulate all races.
I need to grow my young riders and this is a good thing. |

I've just raced an amazing Milan San Remo in my HTC career. I've got to say that MSR + a crosswind is brutal and unbelievable in terms of how great the gameplay you get from it is.
It wasn't a sprinter fest or a puncher's paradise but a real hard man race which actually ended up with a fairly realistic result when you consider how much the stats have changed even though it's only 2017.
It was the 2011 variant and actually ended up with a similar looking result to the actual race so well done to whoever made it, in fact it was scarily similar in terms of group size and the kinds of riders that ended up contesting the final kilometres.
Honestly the replay is a thing of beauty and I'd be happy to share it if I knew which files in the replay folder were the ones needed, is it just the pcm database file are the .cdi or .bin file also needed?

Both cdb and bin are needed iirc, but I would share the cdi just in case as well
