If I want to implement in a current career, it sounds like I can swap in the YoungRiderCarac file. What do I lose if I don't make the table changes in the CDB file?
Or can I substitute those individual tables you mention?
You can indeed substitute each table using excel editor. Just download two copies of the editor and call the exporter.xls file in different ways so you can open it twice at the same time. Now extract both your savegame and the improved progression database in the different exporters and open the following tables:
- dyn_training_exercise
- sta_type_rider
- sta_region
Don't open dyn_sponsor_region since that will change during the career and may lead to bugs. Copy-paste the tables from the improved progression database to your save. Go back to the initial sheet and click on build cdb.
It may be that exporter.exe crashes when opening the savegame. It could occur in some occasions and I honestly don't know what to do in that case.

I'm not sure if low prologue for top TT-ists is anything beyond random occurance. In theory, everything should be OK. Values of starting skills between TT and PR for TT riders are exactly the same. Speed of progression is exactly the same too. Limits differ really slightly, should affect only 1 out of 20 riders.

Same for sprinters who in some cases have too low acceleration stats, but there's not a lot of them there. You'll hardly see sprinters with 79-75/76 or 82-76 in the daily db. But as I mentioned, it's pretty good compared to the original matrix.
And this is completely unfixable, because I can do nothing to prevent the situations in which SP is generated as the highest and ACC as the lowest out of possible values for a rider with given potential. The only thing I could do would be to narrow skills windows very much, but then there would be too little variety in level of riders.

Ok don't worry about it, that shouldn't be too noticeable anyway.

Ah ok so I guess this is the same as the SP-ACC difference. After all, although it differs more than a bit from EP's matrix it's good for the differentiation between riders, seeing how tts are random in the last few series.

Thanks. Makes sense. |

If I just replace my YRC files with yours, will I be able to continue my career (which is in 2017 right now) with 'your' kind of newgens starting from the 2019 season? |

Yeah, you'll see the effects in an existing career already. Make sure to make a backup of the old ones though! However, all the other edits, such as less riders coming from tropical regions will only have an effect from the next career on.

I don't care too much about riders coming from Swaziland, Bolivia or Cyprus, but their related stats will be better-balanced? |

Well, to take advantage of the better development you will need to start a new career, since sta_training_exercise is not in the xml files. Otherwise, you can try copying the table from Anderis' db to your savegame using Excel Editor like I wrote above.

Well I have tried to use the Excel editor several times without one single succesful attempt. Could you maybe do it for me? |

I can take a look at it. Can't guarantee anything though, since it could crash when extracting savegames in certain occasions.

To make everything clear for anyone with similar dilemma: changing only YoungRiderCarac is not enough, you need to have gene_ilist_VP column in STA_type_rider with my modifications in any database you use to enjoy the full effect of better rider development. YoungRiderCarac files will generate them right limits for skills but they will not be able to reach those limits if STA_type_rider is not properly adapted.
Also STA_training_exercise may be important for your young riders to have similar all-round development as riders from AI controlled teams. |

You can see the effects of it in the savegames Anderis posted, practically nothing more than what he's done can be made to enhance the career modes. Everything else can only be touched by Cyanide.

Does this mod fix only the stat balance of young riders or it affects their development as well? For example, will i still get cyclists jumping from 70 mountain to 78 in one year?
Also, is this compatible with the Daily 2016DB?
Thanks in advance! |

The speed of development is affected by factors that cant be edited in the db in pcm 15, so I'm afraid not. Its not compatible with the 2016 db but it has been implemented in it already so all the perks that come with this are in the db as well
