Hi everyone,
The Giro route was already released a while ago, and I thought it would be nice if it were to be made by the community of PCM for PCM. The idea is quite simple. I have posted a list of all stages below. Post in this thread which stage you want to make (preferably one at the time, as it's a community project), I'll add the creator to this post, and when you're done post the DL link here or a link to the DL link. Make sure the stages can be used by everyone, so please make it OfficialRelease-compatible. If you want to use additional IBs or something similar, please provide the DL link plus instructions for that as well.

Lets hope most stages will be IB cities/villages, not too many auto-cities.
And of course that area between, lets make it alive.
It should be a total experience.
Lets remember that Italy is a ver nice country with beautiful sceneries.
Now I put a lot of pressure on you guys
Sorry for that
It was only a wish....

The stage 13 is done and can be downloaded here.
Some notes:
- There are some bugs (spectators/signs on the road in Cividale) that I couldn't get rid of. When I created borders in editor it was fine though, so I think they must be created when loading the stage.
- I used some narrow roads (mostly Matajur ascent and descent) to make it more realistic (the roads used in this stage are generally quite narrow for a GT) but tried not to overdo it. If anyone plays the stage, tell me what you think please.
- I made it a mountain stage, despite the fact that the editor would choose a hilly one and gazzetta labels it as medium mountain stage. The climbs are pretty hard and if they were in higher altitude, there would be no ambiguity in my opinion.
- In general I would be happy for any comments if anyone tries it out
P.S. @clamel There is only one city from IBs (Palmanova + some random settlements), but there is zcts file in the link so feel free to replace the auto-generated ones if you wish |

Have you unticked the Merge Finishline in I believe border settings? This often causes the road to be filled with spectators and borders.

No, I haven't. I don't know what it does exactly, but will try it out if it helps.
edit: It did work, so I have now uploaded the corrected version in the same directory.

Unticking of merge is the most important thing in upgrading stages from older versions to pcm14 and pcm15.
If that is not done VIP,Booths and even spectators are crowding the corners at the business end, most so if you got a small circuit to finish.
t looks horrible when riders goes right through the VIPs or Booths.
It of course play in in the newer versions if the race ends with a couple of laps. I say always untick merge, then depending on how tight the finish line is you might tick "hide" on several of those grues, booths and VIPs.
Stopping them for hanging out from a cliff, or "growing" into houses.
Don't forget to Generate Borders after unticking (and ticking).
Much cleaner and tidy stage at the business end

I went for categories (in order) 1,2,1,2 for stage 13. Regarding stage 14 I would suggest this categorisation: 1,2,4,3,1,2 (maybe Gardena could be 3?) |

Btw Samu, I don't know if you noticed, but the stage 14 also includes Mür dl giat (with maximum at 19%) just before the finish. It would be good if you could include it

I'd say 2-3-1-2 (or 2-4-3-1-2 even) would be more suitable. Cat.1 in the Giro should IMO be reserved for the real mountains.

I'd go with 2-2-3-2-1-1-4 (for the Mür di Giat)

If you take last year as an example then Colle Mollela and Passo Daone are similiar climbs (Mollela is even easier than Matajur) and were both cat 1. I agree that it is a borderline case though, especially because there is another cat 1 worthy climb in the same stage. I would also keep Crai as cat 2 for now. Although the second category is somewhat arbitrarily assigned in Giro and doesn't seem to be very well defined.
I'd go with 2-2-3-2-1-1-4 (for the Mür di Giat)
Pordoi is questionable, although in the past (was it 2008?) I think it was cat 1. I don't think Campolongo with 6 km at steady 5.5% deserves cat 2 though. Also Valparola is not harder than Pordoi, so at most they should have the same category as Giro doesn't seem to overrate the last climbs on the stage as much as other GTs.
In the end it doesn't matter much what the individual categories are though, its more important that the rating is not too different between the various stages.

I'll do like this:
-Pordoi: 1, it's true that only the last 10km from Arabba are hard (around 7%), but previous 25km are 3%, with several parts steeper than 5%, and this fact makes the climb harder.
-Sella: 2 (we agree)
-Gardenna: 3 (Sella is harder)
-Pratolungo: 3, easy as pie, short and not steep at all.
-Giau: 1, no doubt. I supose Cima Coppi is Lombarda or Bonette.
-Valparola: 2, from Corvara or Cortina d'Ampezzo is hard, but from where it starts in this stage there are only 12km to the top, and 5,2%.
Then, i think i won't categorise Mur de Giat. I think that 4th cat. are only used in flat stages in the first stage. In addition, there are also 2 'Murs', one of them pretty similar, and marking three 4cat climbs is not very common in Giro mountain stages. And, to finish, in giro official profile, no murs are categorised.

What should the climb categories be? In my opinion: Mendola Cat. 1 (maybe 2).
Fai della Paganella Cat. 2, and Andalo Cat. 3 maybe 4.
I'd like to hear your opinions as well. |

I agree with you. 1-2-3 seems the best. Maybe not even categorize that final climb to Andalo.
