RBC Pro Cycling [PCT] 2015 - We Promoted
SotD
Yeah that is an ace performance, to have Canada in the PT.

It's not the canadians that will survive though, but some very nice talents and if some cash i splashed out on training riders throughout the years, there could be some very strong canadians.

Congratulations on the promotion from the Minions across the border Wink
Curious about what team you'll be able to create. Nice to see former-Minion Brown having a future with the team, and going to PT Wink

@sgdanny : Yeah it's a shame some will leave but it's more to do with what i'm looking to do in the game in terms of building a Canadian team whlist also staying competitive I could do a Meji even an Ayoubowen and almost accept relegation but i'd rather try and gain better leader and fight harder to stay up then be loyal to some (well just Bellis really)

@SotD : Will for sure not survive with just Canadians it's going to have to continue as a North America project for now as sorts with obviously some star names from the world, though by getting into the PT the budgets a bit higher and some training can finally happen

@Marco: Thanks marco I've no idea where the team will be at the end of the transfer the same as this year. With regards to Brown he is 100% staying like his stats make-up and extremely happy we could pick him up last year his year at the Minions obviously did him well.

So you made it to PT in the end.. Great to see! Smile

You have a interesting team already. But I look forward to see what PT-leaders you're gonna sign now. A few names comes to mind already.. Pfft

Good thing that a certain Taylor Phinney will be available on the FA this season Wink

Intxausti should be OK for top 10s in the GC races, and also the TTT setup seems to be strong enough to fight for top 3s.

Is this the first time Bellis is in the PT btw? I don't remember if he was ever up, or if he was sold when Aegon promoted first time.

I really hope to see Boily being trained as he could be the difference between staying up or going down, despite having limited physical strength.

You have a pretty strong sprinters train, but obviously lack the front figure to sprint for, as none of the sprinters will be able to fight for anything but a lowend top 10 here and there.

Sponsors for 2016 Announced

2.bp.blogspot.com/_nCEEV-BGlKQ/S2yJb3vAZ3I/AAAAAAAACUg/eE2OtLFc80A/s1600/Arbie_w_Torch.jpg

Start of 2015

RBC mission statement for the team has always been to improve the global reach of cycling in Canada showcased by a 50% plus Canadian team last year, this satisfied the sponsors very much though the results did not, poor showings in the Canadian races plus a no show at the Tour of Vancouver led to some harsh dealings in the Boardroom this off-season with the message obvious.
1. Win more races.
2. Make the ProTour
3. Race all Canadian Races Available

After a year were RBC made it clear that Promotion was the only option we are proud to announce we delivered on their mission statement for 2015. After contract negotiations were opened up for the team RBC made it clear their satisfaction of achieving all three of their goals for the season and as such we now embark on a 3-year Contract till the 2019 season with RBC. We are proud to still be ambassadors for the company and look forward to a successful future for us and Canadian cycling.

In other sponsorship news the one-year deal with British Airways has expired and after making contact with the team the new transport sponsor is Tesla motors as we look to lower our carbon footprint and provide a sustainable future for all.

The only other new sponsor is our first ever nutrition sponsor as Power Bar joins the team. The company founded in Canada will provide all race food for the team as well as dietary help throughout the year.

Finally we would like to thank the continued support of Salitia, Giro, Argon 18 and Bontarager for providing equipment for the team along with designer Deksel. And last the continued support from Spidertech for another year.

The final points rankings for all our riders above thought the top 4 have all been mentioned many times it's probably time to talk about the back up team.

Riders like Ryan Anderson who in his 3rd season as a pro showed his best points scoring return ever two big performance accounted for most of his points 6th in the HC Giro Dell'Emilia and 10th at The Tour of South Africa proved how valuable a domestique he can be at times and as his wage lowers over time he's becoming more and more valuable for the team.

Dimitri Grabovski and Roman Krueziger just feel like they need to be grouped they spent over 80% of their race days riding together including the winning performance in the goal race at Monterrey TTT and each rider also showed up with numerous top 20's overall in the year.

Boy Van Poppel amazingly managed quite a high score total considering he only race 19 race days 95 points is a really big total bought for the future more then the present as he could become a top lead out man he helped massively during the season.

Sander Armee, Florian Morizot and Rene Mandri all valuable as double domestique Sander has the best season picking up a win and many points though Mandri also managed to get in many breaks over the year, Florian had mostly domestique duty for Intxausti he still managed a haul over 50 points. Thanks to Quickstep for loaning us Armee.

Alexandor Cataford and Rick Flens one a talent on his way up the other in the Autumn of his career both did the same job for the year most TT races and TTT events they were present and both managed a good haul Cataford also managed a 3rd place on a stage in Tour de L'avenir. Christian Meier did nearly the same job as those above expect he also worked as a domestique for Intxausti.

Johan Van Zyl and Nathan Brown both came in on minimum wage with Van Zyl not in the sponsor region he needed a good year to ensure his continuation with the team but the way he has progressed and his obvious potential on all terrains he will be here for years to come. Brown also impressed and he will also have a long future with the team.

Patrick Naud , Charles Matte and Antoine Duchesne all Canadian and pretty much set here for the future as long as they continue to develop all had slow season but they had their moment Duchesne came close to winning the Scandanavian Road Race to start the year and Matte won a stage at Tour de L'avenir.

Michael Torckler didn't get much room to shine but still managed to pull a couple of points Michael is best utilized at a lower level.

Michael Boros impressed in the cobbled classics usually finishing as our best of the 4 half decent cobblers we have he also took a good position from a breakaway in his home race. Thanks to becherovka for loaning him

Good year for all these riders obviously Hugo Houle winning in Paris was a huge achievement and we can only be proud of him and send him back next year to try and double up . Thanks to quickstep for taking him

Zachary Hughes had the pleasure of riding the final year at Good Energy and if any of the skill that team has comes back with him I can only be happy. Thanks to Good Energy for the loan and sorry to see them go.

Guillaume Boivon had a year leading out Bewley and Vessley at becherovka from what I saw of him he lacked strength at times but the year their can only help him succeed for us. Thanks to Becherovka for having him.

Great to see a fellow ex-D2 manager going up - RBC have seemed a bit like our sister team at times, with the crossover of riders and similar focuses. Best of luck in the PT, Intxausti and Boily give you a solid base to build upon.

Interesting to see just how much Bellis underperformed this season. Should his wage fall a little, I'll definitely be in touch during transfers Wink

Yeah it is rather lucky he could be available and he would be a perfect fit with what we are doing but I still need a contingency plan just in case it's impossible to get him. Intxausti would be nice to have their as a number 2 I feel it's the correct role for where he is at the moment in terms of stats.

Bellis has never been their he came to me the year Aegeon went up and to be honest I'm not sure if he's staying this year I just can't see him being strong enough at the next level.

Boily will no doubt get trained if possible he's the only Canadian worth training at the moment and my favourite rider plus I feel that even if we were to go down an improved version of me would be extremely useful.

Sprinting may be the fall back in case Phinney is not possible it's a tricky game though and even though we have Houle, Boivon, Van Poppel who are all good lead out riders it doesn't guarantee success.

So you made it to PT in the end.. Great to see! Smile

You have a interesting team already. But I look forward to see what PT-leaders you're gonna sign now. A few names comes to mind already.. Pfft

Thanks Dev and it's all going to be dependent on who's available as said above realistically i'd love a leader from USA, GB, RSA or any english speaking nation if not possible though we may look further afield.

To be fair he performed on par it's just half his points came in one race Grin

And we've had a few crossovers it's funny as RBC started French now down to just the one Frenchman.

Jersey Decisions

RBC Pro Cycling are looking for some help to choose the designs of their 2016 jersey that will see them ride in the PT for the first time.

Lead Designer Deksel has come up with two possibilities and we would like to here you opinions on the designs before coming to our own conclusion.

Here are the two designs

Spoiler
Thanks to all who comment the main reason for this is that I genuinely can't decide between the two so thought it would be fun to get the opinions of othersGrin

I like the 2nd one most but it´s a tough call.

Take the 2nd one. The first looks too much like a leader jersey. Pfft

Got to be the second one for me, not a fan of the yellow shoulders/shorts.

Congrats on your promotion by the way. Unfortunately we'll probably both be competing to stay up but I wish you well as you've built a nice squad here with a strong Canadian core.

Nice Jerseys! Smile
Would defintely go with the 2nd version, mabye even with black shorts?
White shorts and cycling just doesn't really fit, just look at FDJ!

I'd say the second one as well. Can't say why but I somehow prefer it more.

Second jersey for me. Reminds me of Topsport-Vlaandern shirt, which I find cool.
