New Riders for ManGame - Suggestions
SotD
I agree with you jph, although most off seasons have been well balanced imo.

SN are good at making odd-country talents that can actually perform on a decent level, despite having never showed much sign of that amount of talent IRL: Tzortzakis, Vlatos, Shikai, Kinoshita, Kamyshev, Choi, Anuar Aziz and many many more.

I don't really like riders being maxed without training at 84MO, 83SPR and so on. IMO it should be training that makes a rider go past 81, but I accept that it is not the way things go. If I want to make Lecuisinier a winning type of rider I know that it costs atleast two seasons a multiple millions, while Herklotz and Dombrowski could both win a Grand Tour with just a single season of training.

Riders like Galta, Bystrom, Wellens, Morton, Koretzky and so on are perfectly levelled as riders that should be able to get immidiate "succes" in the PT, but still having to go through atleast two seasons of training to reach world star level.

In the past riders like Madrazo, Tenorio, Phinney and so on was added with a very high maxing out level. IMO those talents belong to the past. Otherwise they will be GT winners before they are even 25 years old. There's no need for that. Let them have some maxing out seasons, some seasons of training and THEN be amazing at 27-28 years of age. Then we can also see an end to them, while new riders go up and are trained to perfection.

Also by doing that, the difference between a 78 and a 80MO rider could be levelled out by a manager who really want a certain rider to be his new leader - Whether that is a spaniard, kenyanese or whatever.

Okay, Im not sure if you know about all of these Japanese riders, but I thought posting them cant hurt. Im not a fan of making stats of the riders maxed, it just doesn't feel right to be suggesting the exact max stats of riders but here are some that I've found.

First nameLast nameDOBCountryLink
ShikiKuroeda 8th January 1992JPNhttps://www.procyclingstats.com/rider/Shiki_Kuroeda

Kuroeda has had some great results beating riders like Caleb Ewan... and seems to be quite a strong sprinter, maybe japans brightest sprinter in real life along with (I assume) his brother who is probably a bit better. He has some decent results on hilly classics and even finished decently in the GC of some stage races which include mountains, so he can definitely climb better than most Japanese sprinters. If I had to think of his main stats maxed, Sprint=77-80maxed, ACC 78-82maxed, hill 73/74 maxed (Im only basing his stats off his results compared to riders already in the db)

SotaIkebe31st December 1992JPNhttps://www.procyclingstats.com/rider/Sota_Ikebe

Ikebe has some good results as a climber and finished 4th on the main mountain stage of the Tour of Hokkaido in 2013 as a 20 year old. He hasn't shown much else though, but I see him being a decent climber.

1839TakeroTerasaki18th November 1991JPNhttps://www.procyclingstats.com/rider.php?=&id=123618&season=2013

I think Terasaki needs an update. He's gotten good results on flat sprints, and hilly finishes. He looks like a slightly worse version of Kuboki, without the TT/Prologue ability.

HirokiNishimura20th October 1994JPNhttps://www.procyclingstats.com/rider.php?=&id=165046&season=2012

Nishimura showed amazing potential as a young rider, winning many junior races, including the Japanese jr championships, and looked like a very promising rider, but I haven't found any results since 2014 and his results dont seem to be getting much better as I had hoped when I first discovered him, as I thought he could be a strong climber.

YudaiArashiro3rd July 1995JPNhttps://www.procyclingstats.com/rider/Yudai_Arashiro

The name should be enough Pfft Doesn't look like he's that great though, maybe a decent allrounder domestique at best.

RyuSuzuki29th September 1992JPNhttps://www.procyclingstats.com/rider/Ryu_Suzuki

Suzuki seems like a strong sprinter/hilly rider. He's gotten some very good results on those types of stages and probably deserves around 74hill when maxed and 77/78 sprint when maxed. His best result is probably his 5th at the Japanese NC RR.

SayaKuroeda28th September 1995JPNhttps://www.procyclingstats.com/rider/Saya_Kuroeda

Probably the best Japanese sprint prospect I have seen. Amazing results already as a 20 year old. I think he could easily be the best Japanese sprinter in the db (however I know there are already a lot of good japanese/asian sprinters) when maxed, he's beaten other sprinters who have stats in the high 70's (77/78) and he's gotten a lot of his great results before he even turned 19.

Phinney maybe. He was one of the first additions though, so it's never going to be perfect from the start (May not even have been me who added him Pfft). Tenorio and Madrazo were trained at least 2 MO before they were maxed. Adding them wasn't the issue, poorly thought through training was.

Going to post a few Polish talents in the same style as Valverde just did. Smile So I won't rate any of them as I'll likely be biased. Wink

Also apologies if any are already mentioned or in the db already, I don't have access to it at the moment.

First NameLast NameBirth DateCountry PCS Link
SyzmonRekita15th November 1994POLhttps://www.procyclingstats.com/rider/Szymon_Rekita

A really strong time trial talent with quite some good time trial results, Signed as a trainee for Trek at the end of this year and also the Polish U23 time trial champion the past 2 years at 20 and 19 years of age as well as coming third in 2013, he also finished 9th in the tour of Hainan and 9th in the U23 European Championships ITT this year. Unfortunately he didn't race at the world championships but still a really good talent.

MichalPaluta4th October 1995POLhttps://www.procyclingstats.com/rider/Michal_Paluta

Polish U23 road champion and third in the time trial, he also came sixteenth in the U23 world championships despite attacking in the closing laps (I think). He raced with CCC Sprandi Polkowice this year. He seems like quite a talented puncheur and time trialist.

JakubKaczmarek27th September 1993POLhttps://www.procyclingstats.com/rider/Jakub_Kaczmarek

Rides for CCC Polkowice as quite a promising talent, came 18th in the U23 World Championships, 8th in the general classification of Course Cycliste de Solidarnosc et des Champions Olympiques and 5th in the Polish U23 Championships. As well 13th in stage one of the tour de l'Avenir, he seems to be a handy punchy sprinter who can time trial if needed, really just a general strongman.

ErykLaton22nd August 1993POLhttps://www.procyclingstats.com/rider/Eryk_Laton

Definetly not a super talent but not a bad rider, agin rides for CCC Polkowice and most recently had two top ten finishes on stages of the top of Hainan both sprint stages with a tough full near the end (Modolo came second and first respectively on the two though). his best results however were definetly in 2014, where he can 2nd and took a stage win in Dookola Mazowsza (2.2) as well as finishing second on stage three. And had a lot of generally high stage finishes, definitely a good punchy sprinter.

OK, wasn't aware of that. Anyway, I still think 81 should be the absolute max a rider should be able to get when maxing out. That leaves a lot of incitament to spend money wisely in order to train your guys.

SG covered most Canadian so here's the ones he missed also done Ben Perry as SG had him down as a sprinter when he's a classic rider.

Probably the most talented of these with a few good rides including 50th in Quebec 27th in U23 worlds working for De Vos and 1st in a stage at Tour de Beuace seems he's mostly intrested in the classics according to his profile and he's been with Lotto before in Belgium

Oh well, I suck at this but let's try anyway Pfft

Emanuel Buchmann is already in the DB. I'll release him so that he can get a well deserved update. He is the current German RR Champion and is strong on both mountains and hills. In 2014, he finished Avenir as 7th after strong performances in the mountains. Best stage result there was on the mountain top finish in La Toussuire. This year he made his TDF debut and got a 3rd place on the hard stage to Cauterets.

Marcel Meisen is currently in MG FA but deserves an upgrade. He's a solid stage hunter with stage wins in races like (2012) Mi-Août en Bretagne, (2013) Boucles de la Mayenne, Tour Alsace, Baltic Chain Tour, (2015) Tour de Gironde or Oberösterreichrundfahrt. I'd say he's a sprinter who can take hills pretty well.

Krists Neilands is an upcoming Latvian talent. He seems like a rather complete rider with results on many different terrains. His arguably best result is 5th in the GC of Hainan due to the hard hilly stage 8. He's a decent TTer: he crushed the U23 NC ITT event and finished second in a TT in the Tour of Borneo just a couple of days ago. He finished 16th in Ronde van Vlaanderen Beloften which promises some cobble skills as well. It could be better to wait a year before adding him to see how he turns out but if any high potential Latvian will be added then he looks like by far the best bet.

Silver Mäoma looks like the typical pure TTer. His only two results both come from TTs. He finished 2nd behind Gert Joeaar in this year's NC ITT and finished second in a short prologue in Carpathian Couriers Tour.

Jan Brockhoff looks like a solid German allrounder. His strongest result is arguably a 6th place at the LBL junior race. Again: Waiting a year is propably the best.

Tiesj Benoot is a mediocre cyclist from Belgium. His results include 36th place at Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, a 22nd place at GP Ouest and a 8th place in the LBL u23 race 2013. On top, he got selected for the WC.

Atlantius
Finally got my Finnish talent list somewhat recreated. Only three riders proposed for this year, apart from Manninen who will be released but isn't quite as worthless in real life as he is in-game Wink
Class of '96 looks promising though. Most promising '95 rider Oskari Vainionpää saved for next year hoping he'll keep up the good results.

Roope Nurmi
Promising sprinter, who have several wins on the national circuit going several years back despite his young age.
Current level seems to be just edging out Tianinen, who is on 73 sprint 74 Acc in the DB, whoch makes him the best sprinter on the Finnish domestic scene.
Can handle hills decently based on the fact that he have won several sprints for secondary positions in races won by an attacker.
Never attacks it seems.
4th in the Finnish national championships this year, U23 National Champion.
Haven't found an ITT result for him so odds are he's pretty bad at that...
PCS: https://www.procyclingstats.com/rider/...oope_nurmi
CQ: https://www.cqranking.com/men/asp/gen/...erid=22775
CA: https://www.cyclingarchives.com/coureu...urid=74311
FC: https://firstcycling.com/rider.php?r=2...hp?r=21601 (only 2015 U23 NC result I have found)

Jesse Kaislavuo
Attacking style rider.
Have won bit a classic and the final stage as well as the GC in AHH Ajo, which seems to be the biggest domestic stage race in Finland. Both by breaking away and crossing the line alone.
Haven't done much on the rare occasions hae have raced outside Finland. I have him down as a solid breakaway rider but not much more than that.
PCS: https://www.procyclingstats.com/rider/..._Kaislavuo
CQ: https://www.cqranking.com/men/asp/gen/...erid=24291
CA: https://www.cyclingarchives.com/coureu...rid=101415

Juho Hänninen
Strong attacker with a good ITT.
Has some good results at U23 ITT NC's.
Haven't raced much outside Finland but has a solo win in a Finnish Classic alognside a podium in the Estonian Lauri Aus Memorial, which looks like a route for teh strongmen.
It's not a UCI-event but former winners count names such as Ojavee, Bekmanis, Saramotins, Kirsipuu and Veikkanen.
PCS: https://www.procyclingstats.com/rider....?id=188136
CQ: https://www.cqranking.com/men/asp/gen/...erid=24292
CA: https://www.cyclingarchives.com/coureu...urid=79195

Stat suggestions:
I include both proposed current stats as well as max stats if trained with the program every year.
For Nurmi that would be sprinter and for teh other two Fighter.

What?
You mean a rather big talent from Belgium with a 5th place in Ronde van Vlaanderen?
Or am I missing something?

@Atlantius : Your lvl 1 version of the riders, overall show that focusing just upgrading one stat, will end up them getting stronger than your maxed version.

With the two last riders at least

I think he was being sarcastic, or at least I hope he was. If Benoot isn't one of the best riders added this year, I'd be very disappointed. Not that I have any chance of signing him though Pfft
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Some way he added the 2013 years results for Benoot. I think he doesnt know him from irl (?).
Here are the 2015 results list, that are way way better.

I thought it was obvious enough so that a smiley would not be necessary but well, I wasn't serious about that.
It was mainly a reply to the countless comments by Alak in the Skype chat.
