Interesting top 20, only 3 "sprinters" in Matthews, Kristoff and Nizzolo. The last 3 World Champions finish in 8th, 9th and 10th.

If consistency was a person, he'd be Alejandro Valverde. |

Okay, after all these emotions, I'm signing off.
Thanks guys for the nice chats here during the race.
Thanks Sagan for giving me a perfect Sunday evening, you're a big man.
Got to lay down now |

Apparently Boasson Hagen wasn't allowed to chase with GVA because of Kristoff. Norway National Team coach is beyond pathetic².

Greatest worlds in years!!!
Dutch and Belgians attacking like madmen to make the race hard.
Sprinter teams destroyed because of that.
Sagan dropping Van Avermaet on a Van Avermaet climb. Sagan soloing to the finish. Sagan!!! FINALLY!
Anti-cycling team Australia with anti-cycling hero Matthews (gerrans the 2nd) not winning!
Perfect. And I love Sagan winning.
Dumoulin said after the race he attacked in the final kilometer and was caught with 50m to go. That would've made it even better and at least more deserved than Matthews. But oh well, can't have everything. It was a great race overall. A great race by the Dutch, unfortunately no reward but better to give it all and lose then to ride like Australia and finish 2nd. |

I thought the same, I was like, why the fuck dont you just chase with GVA? If that was orders Im inclined to say that he should be fired immediately, I mean, they got a chance to catch Sagan (small, but they did) and I cant see any purpose of just sitting on his wheel. Super weird strats. |

Kristoff was plan A but EBH was given a green light by Kristoff was the word. Hes problem is that hes always been to loyal and not "greedy" enough to go for himself
Hence is why he stayed so many years with Sky and won so little in his career
Wish he Would lose his "insecureness" and be more selfish

My dad entered the room at the moment Debesay was lifted by the Eritrean fans and he was like: 'Who the hell is that rider, and what the hell is that flag!?'
Quite funny
Best winner imaginable imo, Sagan's not only a great cyclist, he's a good person too. He may not be my favourite cyclist, but that shouldn't matter I guess. Best rider won, quite clearly. Good job!

How did Dumoulin deserve to finish 2nd in front of Matthews?
Matthews is a sprinter and did exactly what he was meant to do and did it perfectly by being the first sprinter home. Also he is not the same type of rider as Gerrans and I really don't get how anyone would think that. I'm not nationalistic in anyway and judge riders and people by what they do not the country they are from but I really don't understand all the dislike of almost everything Australian cycling, Gerrans isn't exciting but races to his strengths and has a palmares that many riders would dream about, Matthews is building himself up a tidy little record and races exactly how most other sprinters do.
It really does seem that unless you attack like an idiot in every race then you're victories are worthless, I think people really need to grow up a little and appreciate the many different styles in the peloton even if they aren't the prettiest you can still respect it

Bling would have to be the single worst nickname in the peloton hmmm it's just terrible
