PCMdaily DB Stat Discussion - PCM15
Tafiolmo
I had a spare 15 mins or so and thought with the TTT today these stats might be worth looking at for a rider's TT and TTT ability.

I checked who the 6 riders were for the first five teams and added their TT totals and this is what I came up with for a grand total and average stat in brackets:

Based on rider form and game stats this would've been the order these five teams would've been in game which is a bit different from real life.

Etixx 455 (76)
Movistar 452 (75)
BMC 448 (75)
Orica 436 (73)
Giant 425 (71)

BMC were kind of let down with too many riders on 72TT and Orica had riders like Matthews and Bewley with just 69 and 70 TT but Giant had two really bad TT riders in their squad based on the stats Priedler 66TT and Sinkeldam a terrible 61TT.

I'm still playing with a slightly older PCM db so I don't know if some of these weaker riders have been upgraded or not.

Trolling not. Just answer The Schleck Fan, who believe that Contador in the best form, is the same as in 2009.
Thinking again Contador best would be 86.5-87 in MO if Froome best is 85.Plus Contador would have better back up stats especially REC
Contador 2014 was near Contador 2009 in my opinion

TTT'ing skill should be a combination of Flat, Sprint, Acc, Prologue, resistance and TT. Unfortunately that's not the case in game. Don't know exactly but I think only TT and Res count for TTT's?

REC stat is what's known as a secondary stat by everybody here and is basically the recovery level of a rider for stage races. Over 7-9 day tours it's not really that important, as most riders don't have a problem with REC level.

In the three main GT's though, it is important and the higher it is the better the condition the riders will be in as the race goes into its second and third weeks. For example a rider like Quintana has the highest REC among the big GT contenders and depending on pre-race and daily form should be the strongest in the final week.

It's not just for GT guys, as some of the top sprinters who have been holding on in the mountain stages need to have the strength to sprint in the third week which is why riders like Cavendish also have a high REC level as well.

Other stage race riders like Porte, Costa and Spilak are not high in REC so only tend to do very well in shorter stage races.

Riders in GT's with low REC will tend to get obviously weaker as the race goes on, unless they hide in the peloton and save their energy for stage victories which is what often happens in real life.

Classic's men usually don't have a high REC level, but instead have its twin in another secondary stat in STA. This is designed for a rider's endurance in one day classic races and normally kicks in once the race goes I think above 230km which is why riders like Cancellara, Degenkolb and Boonen etc can be so strong at a race end.

Well if a TTT is just based on TT and RES then the test I did would put some of the teams I looked at like Giant quite a bit weaker, if though the flat stat and prologue is also used, I imagine the prologue would be then this would be more realistic as these TTT teams sometimes include strong flat riders who aren't good TT men.

Because of the problem with TTT in game, I don't think anybody has really paid that much attention to this area of the game.

According to Matt in another post he says he gets good results with TTT in game, so maybe there is some hope.

Froome was stronger but unfortunately crashed in Dauphiné (and seven more crashes) ruined his season.

Aren't you guys finished yet with this constant Froome v Contador debate. Everybody knows that Froome is the best GT rider in the world today on form and Contador the best GT rider on results in this current generation,

The PCM stats are based on now and over the season etc and nobody really doubts that Froome shouldn't be 83 mtn and Contador 82 mtn.

If you guys were debating the best of all time stats for these riders for a historical db then things would be a bit different.

Yeah, Tony Martin deserves 85 MO as well. He couldn't show it, because he crashed, though.

He might be 85 one day if he lost a bit of weight and spoke with Armstrong about how to turn into a GT rider.

Froome was best before the crash, I do not know what you're talking about.

Thats even more troll than Arberg.

Froome was, at that one stage in Dauphine they went up against each other, hands down the better climber. No one can deny that. How you manage to once again include Tony Martin is a mystery, he doesnt really belong in the same sentence of either of those 2 climbers.

Well, my point being, Froome actually wasnt sick or injured that whole season and showed he at least was on par (well, he was better since he won the 2 first stages) with Contador. Its hard to take super much from the Vuelta since it basically came down to who recovered the better from their crashes

No one climbs like contador, froome or quintana. Thats the true. Now if it is 83/84/85, that doesnt matter. I personally play with 83 but thats me. Dont get all mad guys and start to help again with the stats.

True - Landa climbs better than Contador, then yes you are right Smile

Maybe everyone (well, 2 people in particular) should shut up about the top riders so everyone can adjust them to their own liking, and we can focus on the more unknown riders?
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

with the help of some rain, slowing down Kämna and Mullen. just saying. Also Kämna has 69 TT, so Würtz Schmidt would deserve 71 here. Unless we upgrade the rest of the U23 guys.
