Well, I have to say both Canadian Classics are really fun to watch (even without them images in Montreal  ) and are a real plus to the calendar. Looks like the peloton's control there is less than in the European classics so it's nice to see the attackers stand a decent chance.
Two nice winners and two beautiful races. I think the WC course should head for Canada soon. |

I agree and I think it's because of their "shortness".
First, the races itself are only just over 200kms long which is short for a classic. The peloton that races there are used to races over 250kms long.
Second, they're both criteriums with relatively short laps which means that the climbs included are climbed several times and follow each other quickly.
Third, the climbs are short and steep and thus well suited for punchy attacks.
I've also fallen in love with the scenery in Québec. Very beautiful city. |

Yes, Quebec was amazing to watch. The green grass, the scenery, the river.
Fantastic race! It's actually the first time I've watched it. Can't believe I didn't see it the past few years! |

Another great win for Wellens, and what a season Benoot is having. With this shape, he should get a free role at the worlds

Yeah, Wellens is in some great late form again. Certainly a hot pick for Il Lombardia. Benoot is amazing, just 21 years jeez.

Benoot have Boonen-esque talent for sure, it'll be fun to see what races he will really target in the future. A outsider pick for Worlds for sure in his kinda terrain. He was coming incredible strong yesterday! |

Canada used to have a big classic back in the 1990s around this time in Montreal, was popular before the sponsor pulled out I think. |

How can the presentation of the Montreal race be so much worse? Having video issues on a course like that is just unacceptable.
Good win for Wellens but he got a gift from Yates there. |

Nah... If Wellens would've started sprinting in front of Yates, that would've been a gift. Wellens stayed cool and took the risk of possibly letting the group behind them return, Yates panicked and started sprinting which was exactly what Wellens was hoping for. Of course, Wellens knew Benoot was in the group behind him, which made it easier for him.
For the Benoot fans, here's a summary of his 2015 season so far:
3x top 10 in a GC, including an 8th place in the Eneco Tour (WT) and a second place in the Baloise Belgium Tour (HC).
3x top 10 in a WT or HC classic, including a 5th place in the Tour of Flanders and a 6th place in Dwars door Vlaanderen.
8x top 10 in a WT or HC stage, including several hilly stages, a cobbled stage in the Eneco Tour and a MTF in the Dauphiné.
All together 20x top 10 in a GC, stage or classic, including flat, cobbled, hilly and mountainous races.

There was no gift. Wellens was just way faster at the end of that race. He played it like a 33-year old experienced rider. Wellens was smartert and better there. There was no gift. |

I really love how Jens turned out after winning his Belgian National Title last year. It really was the start of his career for me and he still surprises me. Strong rider, good sprinter but now on the Citadel, wouldn't have thought him possible to win there against the likes of Bakelants etc.

Lotto had the advantage of 2 riders in there.
Vichot was dropped at that point and a few meters behind and also Molard has worked a lot already.
Bakelants, Laporte, Bille and Pinot probably watched at Vanendert mainly and did not want to pull him. In the end though Debusschere probably was stronger than most expected and his attack quickly worked out. Nice win indeed. |

This guy...44 years old and still winning races. He's fricking 23 years older than Bonifazio. Could easily be his father. Rebellin and Nibali escaped btw.
