he never fired it Rolling Eyes

Maybe he couldn't? The guy was on the rivet the entire final week so how does one attack if they physically can't or is this something you are not understanding?

Maybe this time, but whole Purito GT career can be summed up by the words "pussy". Because of how much afraid he was to attack sooner then flamme rouge of majority of stages. Wink

I actually dont think this rider deserves a GT win, he was always riding like for 2nd place, so that should be good enough for him...

he was the best climber Sunday and Monday. Guys that came in behind him on every stage that mattered (Majka and Quintana) were able to attack. he couldn't have lost all his form in the final week. He stayed in the Aru group where Sanchez and Losada had no problem following the tempo.. It can't be that he did not have the legs to attack that group. It's a lame excuse. Even with bad legs he should have tried atleast. It's not like Aru was looking like a dominant force Saturday.

Well it is possible to lose condition in the final week, it's been seen before. Also him and Katusha did try an attack on stage 18 but it failed very quickly because he simply didn't have the legs, is it really a surprise that at the age of 36 he is on the decline?

Maybe but I also don't think Purito was a true rider to challenge for a GT victory, I think the fact that he's gotten as close as he has to actually winning one was a big achievement

Both are actually coming from flag of Genoa iirc, also having a connection with crusades. (the red cross, dont know about the moor heads).

(article from Wikipedia): The Flag of the four Moors, or simply the four moors (I quattro mori in Italian, Sos bator moros in Logudorese Sardinian, Is cuatru morus in Campidanese Sardinian) is the official flag of the autonomous region of Sardinia, Italy, and the historical flag and coat of arms of the Kingdom of Sardinia. Described as a "white field with a red cross and a bandaged Moor's head facing away from the luff [the edge close to the mast] in each quarter"

The flag is composed of the St. George Cross and four heads of Moors which in the past were not blindfolded and turned towards the luff. The heads are taken to represent the defeated Moors, first used in the seals of Aragonese kings and later transferred to the Kingdom of Sardinia.
