Other Races 2015

Just when you think cycling's made it in the UK... you see two evidently oblivious students cross the zebra crossing on which, a split second later, EBH will cross while in the midst of a race winning attack. Ridiculous.
Disclaimer- Most of my posts are me thinking aloud. And most of what I think is rubbish.

Another 2nd place for EBH, but he does win some time on Poels.

Was it me or did Uran get too much help from the motorcycle?
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Quebec was an awesome race to follow, though. Quite a nice race, with lots of attacks.
Uran best timed attack. Matthews a contender for the WC, I think.

I thought he got much more help from his team with (who would have thought?) good team tactics from Etixx by sending Alaphilippe into attack 2km to go and spending other teams helpers.

You would think that the Australian team will go all in for Matthews and looking at the team it suggests this, it will be a punchy sprinter from what I can make of the parcours who takes it this year

Greipel wins in Tour of Britain, but very dangerous sprinting. Should be relegated

I'd feel bad for not having images of Montreal but Voeckler is in the break so atleast we don't have to live through al his ridiculous acting

Aaaah Wellens takes it!
Yates 2nd. Costa 3rd, Bakelants 4th and Benoot 5th I think.

What a race! Wellens & Yates duo, followed by Bakelants, Bardet, Kelderman and Costa. But Benoot accelerated out of the peloton in the final km!

Awesome race and I just love Wellens and Benoot Grin Grin

Costa really strong at the end. Shame, could've won.

Well, I have to say both Canadian Classics are really fun to watch (even without them images in Montreal Pfft) and are a real plus to the calendar. Looks like the peloton's control there is less than in the European classics so it's nice to see the attackers stand a decent chance.

Two nice winners and two beautiful races. I think the WC course should head for Canada soon.

I agree and I think it's because of their "shortness".
First, the races itself are only just over 200kms long which is short for a classic. The peloton that races there are used to races over 250kms long.
Second, they're both criteriums with relatively short laps which means that the climbs included are climbed several times and follow each other quickly.
Third, the climbs are short and steep and thus well suited for punchy attacks.

I've also fallen in love with the scenery in Québec. Very beautiful city.
