Good start for Uran, hopefully he can keep this up.

Excellent preview, much appreciated.
A pretty dissapointing lineup, but obviously that's just a plus for me. Certainly hoping that my French team, with a French leader, backed by (mainly) Frenchies, can do well in the home tour.
Top-5 would be great, top-3 awesome. But we're one crash away from having no one capable of anything... |

First stage was a write off.
A barb in the preview against Cancellara missing the race but the first stage was not a chance - it was for the stage racers imo.
Jose lost perhaps slightly more than I would have hoped but it really is little compared to what can be gained out on the road.
Pluchkin and Taaramae already on top though.

Congrats to SN there. Exactly the same sprint train which was honed in Qatar is now yielding fruits at the granddaddy of them all!
I thought the wildcards were going to spring a surprise there, great position into the sprint, but lacking in the final meters, great finish anyway. Having said that well done Euskaltel-Air France, you have virtually had a better GT than another wildcard this season, already.... |

Surely we can skip the rest of the stages now, we can extrapolate from the current rankings?

Nice to see Gillett breaking clear. Something I want to see again from him in particular! Two GT stage-wins wouldn't be too shabby

Not really good to know that my team won´t build sprint train from first picture when Oelerich initiated BOTD Despite of zero help from team mates, Degenkolb made an excellent job in bunch sprint. He desperately needs more training in off-season though.
Congrats to SN, no surprise to see Swift celebrating again. At least Bewley failed today

1 flat stage down with no casualties is great! Congrats SN.

Great to see Maksimov taking part in the first sprint. Fothen also had a decent opening TT. So far so good for the team. Keep it up boys.

Yeah I just have to be happy to see Guerao take part in the sprint. It ain't a great sprint but hope at least for other flat stages.
The now well oiled Vesuvio train did a great job and Swift launched at a good time too. Yellow jersey beckons for the Brit.

Not bad from Zabel. Seems to me that he is always up there, just not strong enough to win. Maybe I will need to give him some "training" (for some reason our training system always makes me think of some other way of improving riders...)
Well done by Swift to win, Vesuvio managed to get a strong train there with Kittel getting the entire train into position. Always nice to see someone set that up (I had a Tony Martin in HTC vibe when i saw the picture)

Kristoff going 15th was kind of expected seeing he used a lot of energy trying to get a better position just before the sprint started. That's definitely what he risks being completely on his own, there's no one to help him finding a good position.
Congratulations to SN! It's really the perfect start for Swift, being a couple of bike lengths better than the others due to a great lead out. Bouhanni with a big surprise, which also shows it's possible to mix it with the best for the sprinters well behind the best, that gives some hope of a top 5 in one of those sprints for Kristoff. |

What a great start to the Tour for Bouhanni the french sprinter!
Couldn't really ask for much better, hopefully he can keep this up

This.
Grosu at least in the first 25 riders, trying. Next year he should be better.

Tom David tried to break away, which is nice. A little bit sooner and he would have made it. Tomorrows stage is more interesting in terms of attacks, as there is a mountainstage to chase, so I hope one of my guys will jump for it.
Coquard sprinting as expected, and keeping the U25 1-2 is nice.

It's certainly been a great start to the Tour for Vesuvio. Kittel riding well on Stage 1, and then the sprints thereafter. Stage 2 was setup by the leadout train and Swift just had to finish the job - Stage 3 probably the most satisfying as Swifty beat Bewley in a straight fight, from a position that you would have expected Bewley to win.
And the Yellow jersey now too - to complete the Grand Tour leaders jersey collection.

4th from Zabel, well done. I think it is a sound tactic from him to try to latch onto Swift or Bewley's wheel. I doubt he can beat them but that should give him the best chance.
Schorn first rider (of this addition?) to fall out the back of the peloton... I have a feeling he wont make it to Paris

Bouhanni with a low Top 10 which is still solid but a little disappointing.
Would like to see us in the breakaway sooner or later.

Especially considering he was born in Epinal!
